The Group’s Sales Revenue was RM1.45 billion, 9% lower compared to 1QFY2022, whilst Profit After Tax was at RM102 million, lower by 49%, attribute to softer performance came on the back of normalising average selling prices (ASPs) which are moving closer to pre pandemic levels. Raw material prices were generally on a downward trend, decreasing at a slower pace than ASPs, which resulted in margin compression.

The Group’s Sales Revenue was RM1.58 billion, 24% lower compared to 4QFY2021, whilst Profit after tax was 57% lower at RM202 million. The Group’s weaker quarter-on-quarter performance for 1QFY2022 was mainly attributed to declining ASPs and higher operating costs as a result of lower utilisation rates, while raw material costs reduced at a much slower pace in comparison to glove ASPs, thereby impacting profit.

Profit After Tax grew to RM7.82 billion, a 337% jump compared with the previous financial year. The Group’s commendable yearly financial performance was attributed to robust glove demand coupled with strong average selling prices (ASPs) which rose some 138% in line with market pricing trends, driven by the ongoing pandemic. Looking ahead, we are confident that demand for gloves will continue on its steady uptrend, increasing between 10% to 15% per annum, driven by elevated levels of awareness and hygiene standards both in the medical and non medical sector

Profit after tax was 29% lower at RM2.06 billion. The Group’s softer quarter-on-quarter performance for 3QFY2021 came on the back of adjustments in line with glove market pricing trends, to ASPs which had peaked in February 2021. The Sales Volume (Quantity Sold) eased 4% quarter-on-quarter mainly due to reduction in sales to the U.S., following a temporary halt in shipments to the U.S. from Malaysia
