The Star –
Top Glove is among the stocks which could see trading interest on Tuesday following their corporate announcements, JF Apex Research said. Top Glove is evaluating a dual primary listing on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange (HKEX). The proposed HKEX listing is still at a preliminary stage and the structure has not been finalised. Top Glove is also said to be considering raising more than US$1bil from the listing, Bloomberg reported.
The Edge –
Based on corporate announcements and news flow, companies that may be in focus on Oct 8 include Top Glove Corp Bhd. Top Glove Corp Bhd will start paying dividends on a quarterly basis starting from the financial year ending Aug 31, 2021 (FY21). A special dividend is also possible as the group moves away from its existing semi-annual payout scheme.
The Star –
Stocks to watch on Wednesday include Top Glove Corp Bhd, according to JF Apex Research. Top Glove is set to pay about US$40mil to its migrant workers, a US news portal reported. The sum is substantially higher than the estimate of RM56 million that Top Glove revealed earlier.
The Edge –
Glove counters continue to be among the top gainers in the morning trading session today, amidst the surging demand for rubber gloves as Covid-19 cases keep increasing. The world’s largest glove maker, Top Glove Corp Bhd, rose 0.91% to RM8.84. Its market capitalisation stood at RM71.26 billion with RM20.6 million shares changing hands. Kenanga Investment Bank Bhd has maintained its overweight call on the rubber glove sector, saying taht average selling prices are still rising and prospects in the sector are looking bright.

Top Glove Corp Bhd has been actively buying back its shares, having spent close to RM310mil in September itself. The rubber glove maker just spent RM99.76mil in the open market yesterday to purchase 12.5 million units of its own shares, valued between RM7.85 and RM8.00. It was 21.93% of Top Glove’s trading volume of 56.98 million units yesterday.
The Edge –
After posting a record-breaking RM1.87 billion net profit for the financial year ended Aug 31, 2020 (FY20), Top Glove Corp Bhd’s profits are expected to grow by more than ten times in FY21, according to some analysts’ forecasts. The stunning growth in profitability is due to higher-than-expected average selling prices (ASPs) and longer demand lead times. However, net profit is expected to plunge in FY22 as demand for gloves weaken. “We reiterate that such supernormal profits are not sustainable in nature and earnings growth should be tapering off from FY22F onwards,” said PublicInvest.
BURSA MALAYSIA –
For the 4QFY2020, the Group’s Sales Revenue was RM3.11 billion, up by 84%, with growth in Sales Volume (Quantity Sold) of 5% versus 3QFY2020. Meanwhile, Profit Before Tax and Profit After Tax surged by 285% to RM1.62 billion and 279% to RM1.33 billion respectively.
The Edge –
Top Glove had risen 9.92% or 77 sen to RM8.53 at 10.12am, after dropping to RM6.45 last week, bringing up the market capitalisation of the stock to RM69.21 billion. It saw some 52.51 million shares change hands. The rally in Top Glove was also supported by its latest announcement that it will release its financial results for the fourth quarter ended Aug 31, 2020(4QFY20) and the full financial year on Thursday.
The Edge –
Two glove manufacturers, Top Glove Corp Bhd and Supermax Corp Bhd, have started their share buyback schemes as their share prices plummeted after the meteoric rise over the past five months. Top Glove, whose share price has slipped 32% from the peak of RM9.47, spent nearly RM100 million to buy back 14.93 million shares at between RM6.12 and RM7.40 yesterday, according to its filing with the stock exchange.

Shares of Top Glove Bhd rose in active trade, outperforming its other peers as its bonus issue went ex on Thursday. At 11.26am, it was up 24 sen to RM8.93 with 58.15 million shares done. Its bonus issue involves two for every one share held. The entitlement date in Friday.
BURSA MALAYSIA –
The Group’s Sales Revenue of RM1.69 billion, up by 37%, with growth in Sales Volume (Quantity Sold) of 25% versus 2QFY2020. Meanwhile, Profit Before Tax and Profit After Tax surged by 224% to RM422 million and 202% to RM350 million respectively. As a result of the aggressive organic expansion in nitrile glove capacity, Top Glove also emerged its position as the world’s largest manufacturer of nitrile gloves, in addition to being the world’s largest manufacturer of natural rubber gloves and surgical gloves.
BURSA MALAYSIA –
The Group’s Sales Revenue for 2QFY2020 was RM1.23 billion, up 1.7%, with growth in Sales Volume (Quantity Sold) of 2% versus 1QFY2020. In particular, quarter-on-quarter Sales Volume for natural rubber gloves improved by 11%, delivering a higher profit margin as well, as Top Glove recovered market share from its competitors

3 MAR 20 – Top Glove Corp Bhd’s share price rose as much as 25 sen or 4.46% to RM5.85 in morning trades today after the rubber glove manufacturer said yesterday the company and Adventa Capital Pte Ltd had settled amicably their legal dispute on the purchase of Aspion Sdn Bhd by Top Glove’s subsidiary Top Care Sdn Bhd.
