BURSA MALAYSIA –
The group reports loss after tax and minority interests (“LATAMI”) narrowed to RM3.2 billion as compared to RM9.1 billion in FY2022. The narrowed in loss after tax and minority interests (“LATAMI”) was due to revenue increased and turning around EBITDA losses of RM2.2 billion and RM241 million in FY2022, into a positive EBITDA of RM155 million and RM143 million respectively. Moving Forward, the Group target to reduce its unsustainable debts with lenders and resolve overdue payments to its vendors. Also, the group are looking to bring in fresh capital whileparing down our debts through debt restructuring, commercial settlements, and the divestment of their interest in SapuraOMV Upstream.
BURSA MALAYSIA –
The Group’s revenue of RM1,275.1 million was 8.7% higher than the immediate preceding quarter (“Q2 FY2023”) of RM1,172.9 million due to the higher utilisation days from the Drilling segment. The Group recorded a profit before taxation of RM75.4 million in the current quarter, RM50.2 million higher than profit before taxation in Q2 FY2023. This is owing to lower project costs recognised during the current quarter, higher share of profits from associates and joint ventures and a favourable foreign exchange gain in the current quarter
BURSA MALAYSIA –
The Group recorded a profit before taxation of RM25.2 million in the current quarter, RM71.6 million lower than profit before taxation in Q1 FY2023. This is due to higher project costs recognised, lower share of profit from associates and joint ventures and lower foreign exchange gain in the current quarter.
BURSA MALAYSIA –
The Group recorded a profit before taxation of RM96.8 million which was RM6,845.4 million higher than a loss before taxation of RM6,748.6 million. In the immediate preceding quarter, the Group made provision for impairment on goodwill on consolidation of RM3,289.9 million and provision for impairment on property, plant and equipment of RM2,315.8 million.
BURSA MALAYSIA –
In the current quarter, the Group recorded a loss before taxation and impairment of RM1,220.5 million which was higher by RM571.3 million compared to a loss before taxation and impairment of RM649.2 million in Q3 FY2022 primarily due to provision for foreseeable losses, higher project costs and lower share of profit from associates and joint ventures.
BURSA MALAYSIA –
The Group recorded a loss before taxation of RM649.2 million which was RM820.8 million lower than RM1,470.0 million. The Group’s loss in Q2 FY2022 was mainly due to provision for foreseeable losses and higher project costs recognised for certain projects.
BURSA MALAYSIA –
The Group recorded a loss before taxation of RM64.0 million which was RM116.3 million lower than RM180.3 million loss before taxation in Q4 FY2021, mainly due to higher project margin from E&C business segment and improved margins from operating rigs from Drilling business segment.
The Edge –
Sapura Energy Bhd said today its wholly-owned subsidiaries in engineering and construction (E&C) have been awarded six contracts with a combined value of approximately RM1 billion. The contracts are expected to contribute positively towards the earnings of Sapura Energy and its group of companies for the relevant financial periods within the duration of the contracts
BURSA MALAYSIA –
The Group recorded a lower loss before taxation and impairment of RM802.3 million in the current quarter, compared to a loss before taxation and impairment of RM982.6 million in Q4 FY2020. This improvement is mainly contributed by improvement in project margins from the E&C business segment, higher share of profit from associates and joint ventures, lower net finance cost reduced by the net foreign exchange loss and restructuring expenses.

Reuters reported that Brent crude futures jumped above US$70 a barrel on Monday. Brent crude futures for May reached US$71.16 a barrel in early Asian trade and were at US$70.76 a barrel by 0036 GMT, up US$1.40, or 2%. Bursa Malaysia’s Energy Index rose 53.62 points, or 5.64% to 1,005.13, its highest since March 2020. Sapura Energy Bhd, Velesto energy Bhd, KNM Group, Bumi Armada and Alam Maritim are among the top active counters on Bursa Malaysia.

Oil and gas (O&G) related counters attracted investors’ attention this morning as oil price rally continues. Reuters reported that Brent crude settled at US$64.34 a barrel, gaining 99 cents, or 1.6%, while U.S. West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude settled at US$61.14 a barrel, rising US$1.09, or 1.8%. Sapura Energy Bhd added 0.5 sen to 15.5 sen
The Edge –
Sapura Energy Bhd said today that its wholly-owned subsidiaries and joint venture (JV) company have been awarded RM1.85 billion worth of contracts and contract extensions, comprising engineering and construction, and drilling works in Saudi Arabia, Thailand, Brunei and Malaysia.
