BURSA MALAYSIA –
The lower operating profit, higher foreign exchange losses on borrowings as well as higher tax charges in the current quarter resulted in a 29.8% (RM112.8 million) decrease in Group PATAMI, from RM378.0 million in the preceding quarter to RM265.2 million in the current quarter.
BURSA MALAYSIA –
The Group continues to record steady revenue growth with a 1.5% (RM40.4 million) increase in revenue from RM2,762.9 million in the preceding quarter to RM2,803.3 million in the current quarter ended, driven by Internet, voice and other telecommunication services.
The Edge –
Telekom Malaysia Bhd is planning to buy back all the outstanding Islamic Medium-Term Notes (IMTNs) before their respective maturity dates. These debt papers were issued up to RM2 billion in nominal value. There are seven tranches with coupon rates between 3.93% and 4.5%, as well as maturity dates of between June 25, 2021 and June 23, 2023.
BURSA MALAYSIA –
Operating profit before finance cost correspondingly increased 10.0% (RM41.8 million) to RM459.8 million from RM418.0 million recorded in the preceding quarter mainly due to reduction in operating cost from continued optimised spending. This subsequently led to a 19.9% (RM54.8 million) increase in Group PATAMI from RM274.7 million in the preceding quarter to RM329.5 million.
BURSA MALAYSIA –
The Group’s revenue increased 1.4% (RM34.9 million) in the current quarter to RM2,592.0 million from RM2,557.1 million recorded in 1st quarter of 2020 despite the full quarter impact of MCO, with higher revenue from voice and data services.
BURSA MALAYSIA –
Revenue for 1Q2020 decreased RM477.0 million to RM2,557.1 million from the RM3,034.1 million recorded in the 4Q2019, with lower revenue from all lines of products except for Internet and multimedia services. Operating profit before finance cost increased RM210.2 million to RM321.6 million from RM111.4 million recorded in 4Q2019 which was affected by the recognition of a one-off fair value adjustment on Redeemable Exchangeable Medium Term Notes issued by a non-controlling shareholder of a subsidiary.
REMUNERATION STUDY –
In Financial Year End 2019, the directors’ remuneration was 7.6 million. It was low compared to average in listed companies, considering the employees’ remuneration of 2711.4 million and auditor’s remuneration of 2600 thousands
BURSA MALAYSIA –
The current quarter Group revenue was RM3,034.1 million as compared to RM2,852.6 million recorded in the 3Q2019 with higher revenue from data, voice, and other telecommunication services. Operating profit before finance cost decreased to RM111.4 million from RM417.2 million in the preceding quarter mainly affected by a one-off RM233.7 million fair value adjustment recognised on Redeemable Exchangeable MTNs issued by a non-controlling shareholder of a subsidiary.

TM (9 JAN 20) Telekom Malaysia Bhd (TM) and Digi Telecommunications Sdn Bhd (Digi), both currently participating in the 5G Demonstration Project (5GDP) undertaken by the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC), have agreed to work together in testing the capabilities, possibilities and limitations of 5G network sharing between multiple network service operators during the 5GDP period.

22 JAN 20 – TM One, the enterprise and public sector business solutions arm of Telekom Malaysia Bhd (TM), and FNS Value Co Limited (FNSV) of Korea on Tuesday (Jan 21), signed a memorandum of collaboration (MoC) to appoint TM ONE as the sole distributor of FNSV Blockchain Secure Authentication (BSA) products and solutions for Malaysia and as the strategic partner for the ASEAN Region.
