BURSA MALAYSIA –
The Group’s Profit Before Tax (“PBT”) of RM19.1 million in FYE2021 declined into a Loss Before Tax (“LBT”) of RM14.2 million in FYE2022 due to o lower net foreign exchange (“forex”) gain of RM1.6 million (FYE2021: RM38.0 million) and one-off legal compensation of RM17.1 million (FYE2021: Nil). On ESG initiatives, the Group is scheduled to meet the commissioning date of end December 2023 for the 20MW floating solar plant under the Large Scale Solar (“LSS”) Cycle 4. Once completed, the solar plant is expected to supply 883,000MWh of green electricity to Tenaga Nasional Berhad under a 25-year Power Purchase Agreement, contributing to a reduction of 725,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions to the environment, or equivalent to reducing 158,000 units of cars on the roads.
BURSA MALAYSIA –
The Group recorded revenue of RM729.9 million in the current quarter under review, lower by RM84.4 million or 10.4% compared to RM814.3 million in the preceding quarter. PBT of RM15.7 million in the current quarter under review was lower by 26.4% compared to PBT of RM21.4 million in the preceding quarter.
BURSA MALAYSIA –
After the movement control restrictions were gradually lifted in August 2021, the Group’s performance started to gather momentum and recorded a higher revenue of RM866.9 million in the current quarter under review, an increase of RM427.6 million or 97.4% compared to RM439.3 million in the preceding quarter. PBT improved to RM57.0 million in the current quarter under review compared to LBT of RM42.7 million in the preceding quarter.
BURSA MALAYSIA –
The Group’s businesses were affected by the movement control restrictions. As a result, the Group recorded lower revenue of RM439.3 million in the current quarter under review, reduced by RM198.8 million or 31.2% compared to RM638.0 million in the preceding quarter and a LBT of RM42.7 million in the current quarter under review compared to LBT of RM18.3 million in the preceding quarter.
BURSA MALAYSIA –
Despite the reduction in revenue, the Group’s PBT in the current quarter under review improved to RM22.1 million compared to Loss Before Tax (“LBT”) of RM76.9 million in the preceding quarter. The Group’s LBT in the preceding quarter was mainly due to the impact which arose from the settlement of the Bills of Demand from Royal Malaysian Customs Department.
BURSA MALAYSIA –
The Group recorded revenue of RM747.9 million in the current quarter ended 31 December 2020, lower by RM216.6 million or 22.5% compared to RM964.5 million in the preceding quarter. In line with the reduction in revenue, the Group recorded Loss Before Tax of RM76.9 million in the current quarter under review compared to Profit Before Tax of RM1.7 million in the preceding quarter.
BURSA MALAYSIA –
Profit Before Tax had improved to RM1.7 million in the current quarter under review compared to Loss Before Tax of RM86.3 million in the preceding quarter. The performance improved in Q3 2020 after the
restrictions under the Conditional Movement Control Order ended on 9 June 2020 in Malaysia. In addition, sales tax exemption for locally assembled vehicles since 15 June 2020 (ending 31 December 2020) has also contributed to better vehicle sales during the quarter under review
BURSA MALAYSIA –
The Group recorded revenue of RM512.9 million in the current quarter ended 30 June 2020, lower by RM221.4 million or 30.2% compared to RM734.3 million in the preceding quarter. Revenue were lower due to impact of the MCO and weak consumer sentiment following the COVID-19 pandemic in the Malaysian market and regional markets we operate in.
REMUNERATION STUDY –
In Financial Year End 2019, the directors’ remuneration was 31.27 million. It was high compared to average in listed companies, considering the employees’ remuneration of 430.8 million and auditor’s remuneration of 656 thousands
BURSA MALAYSIA –
The Group recorded revenue of RM0.97 billion for Q4 2019 which is lower by RM75.9 million or 7.2% as compared to RM1.05 billion for the preceding quarter. Profit before tax increased by 10.0% from RM20.8 million to RM22.9 million for the current quarter. The automotive division recorded a lower revenue of RM949.9 million and EBITDA had increased by 29.2% to RM85.3 million for Q4 2019. The lower revenue was due to stiff competition in the automotive market.
