Profit before taxation was RM 3.0m in 2023 vs PBT of RM 22.3m (gains from disposal of land & building was RM 17.6m) in the previous year. Despite the increase in revenue, the Group has recorded a lower PBT from operations due to rising labour cost following the implementation of the amendments to the Employment Act 1955. We expect revenue and earnings to be challenging in 2024. The Malaysian Automotive Association forecast Total Industry Volume (Passenger Vehicles) for 2024 to be 666,000 units vs 719,160 units in 2023. We expect continuous increase in volumes from Indonesia to compensate for part of the reduction in revenue in the local market and lower the country dependent risk. The Industrial spares segment is working with various local and overseas suppliers in order to offer our customers a wider range of products. This will also allow the company to venture into new sectors.

Revenue from the carpet segment from Malaysia was increased by RM0.97m to RM19.52m as compared to preceding quarter mainly due to major increase in sales to Honda of RM1.17m. The increase in PBT was due to higher revenue. Machinery parts segment recorded a drop in revenue by RM1.01m to RM1.43m which was mainly attributed to slow down in orders from the palm oil industry in Indonesia and weak global demand.
