BURSA MALAYSIA –
Record sales led to Sime Darby Property increasing revenue by 23.7% from RM2.2 billion in FY2021 to RM2.7 billion. Meanwhile, profit before tax (“PBT”) increased by 63.6% from RM280.5 million to RM458.9 million; and profit after tax and minority interest (“PATAMI”) surged by 115.0% from RM146.9 million to RM315.8 million. The significant increase in PBT was underpinned by profitability growth across all business segments, including contributions from land monetisation, RM44.1 million gain on dilution upon first close of IDF and RM8.9 million in gain from the disposal of a low-yielding asset in Vietnam. Going Forward, The group will pay close attention to managing their costs in anticipation of continued high prices for building materials. Also, the group will explore different channels to replenish their land bank in order to activate new townships for continued and increasingly diversified business growth.
BURSA MALAYSIA –
Group revenue for the current quarter has improved by 12.0% to RM689.3 million as compared to the preceding quarter. However, PBT of the Group has decreased by 35.5% from RM145.9 million in preceding quarter to RM94.1 million in the current quarter as the previous quarter’s PBT includes “Other gains” arising from the dilution of interest in the Industrial Development Fund from wholly-owned to 55% interest amounting to RM44.1 million.
BURSA MALAYSIA –
Profit before tax of the Group improved by 75.4% largely on account of a gain on dilution of interest in the Industrial Development Fund from wholly-owned to 55% interest amounting to RM44.1 million, as recognised in “Other gains”. Other gains in the preceding quarter consists of the gain on disposal of the Group’s 65% interest in OSC Sunrise totalling RM8.9 million.
BURSA MALAYSIA –
Revenue for the current quarter was 35.0% lower than the preceding quarter. In turn, PBT has decreased by 32.3% from a PBT of RM122.9 million in the preceding quarter to a PBT of RM83.2 million in the current quarter. All three segments registered lower contribution in the current quarter.
BURSA MALAYSIA –
Group revenue for the current quarter has improved to RM739.4 million from RM388.2 million, an increase of 90.4% as compared to the preceding quarter. The improved performance is reflective of improved market sentiments across all segments, with revenue from the property development segment almost doubling in the current quarter. Accordingly, the profit for the current quarter improved significantly to RM74.3 million as compared to a loss of RM15.9 million in the preceding quarter.
BURSA MALAYSIA –
The Group’s revenue for the current quarter was 16.4% lower than the preceding quarter, whilst the result has surged by 303.8% from a LBIT of RM48.0 million in the preceding quarter to a PBIT of RM97.9 million in the current quarter. The significant improvement of the financial results was mainly attributable to the improved performance from all three business segments during the current quarter, whilst the preceding quarter was impacted by the write-down/write-off of inventories, provisions and impairments totaling RM94.9 million.
BURSA MALAYSIA –
The Group registered a loss of RM358.6 million compared to loss of RM99.4 million in the preceding quarter mainly due to share of impairment loss from Battersea Group of RM337.1 million, a 40% owned joint venture of the Group, and write-down/write-off of inventories in the property development segment totalling RM97.8 million
BURSA MALAYSIA –
Covid-19 pandemic in Malaysia put the country in an almost complete lockdown during the MCO and CMCO periods and had resulted in significant adverse impact to the performance of the Group in the current quarter. The revenue for the current quarter was 39.5% lower than the preceding quarter. The Group’s results were further impacted by the write-down of completed inventories and impairment of receivables and contract assets.
BURSA MALAYSIA –
The revenue for the current quarter was 46.4% lower than the preceding quarter. The unprecedented global pandemic hits hard on the already weakened property market which was evidenced with decline in property sales. The Group recorded profit before tax of RM10.9 million and a PATAMI of RM14.2 million for the current quarter.
REMUNERATION STUDY –
In Financial Year End 2019, the directors’ remuneration was 5.18 million. It was slightly low compared to average in listed companies, considering the employees’ remuneration of 211.1 million and auditor’s remuneration of 1390 thousands
