    The Group recorded a lower LBT of RM6.64 million for the financial year ended 30 June 2024, an decrease of RM3.77 million as compared to LBT of RM10.41 million recorded in corresponding period of the preceding financial year. Lower LBT recorded in 12M2024 was mainly due improvement in profit margin in Manufacturing and reversal of share option reserve but partly offset by the impairment of certain fixed assets. Going forward, in Property Division, the Group has signed a joint venture agreement on a commercial development project on leasehold land in Sungai Buloh, Selangor. The joint venture is anticipated to positively impact the Group’s profitability and cash flow in coming years.

    The Group recorded a Loss Before Tax of RM10.4 million in the FYE 2023 as compared to LBT of RM17.1 million in FYE 2022. Higher LBT recorded in FYE 2022 was mainly due to higher cost of material and staff costs amounting to RM7.9 million arisen from vesting of share options. The Group remains cautiously optimistic on the long-term business prospects and will continue to actively pursue various business strategies to increase its revenue, focus on improving efficiency, automation across our operations and to implement cost control measures.

A high LBT recorded in FY 2022 was mainly due to lower revenue recorded in Property Division coupled with higher cost of materials and staff costs amounting to RM7.9 million arisen from vesting of share options under SIS. In April 2022, SMSB has signed an Exclusive Distributorship Agreement with Signature Cabinet Sdn Bhd, Signature Distribution Sdn Bhd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Signature International Berhad and Beyond Bath Sdn Bhd (Sorento Master Club) following the official launch of Scanwolf Flooring flagship showroom located at Kota Damansara.
