The group recorded Profit before tax of RM7.2 million in the current financial year ended 30 June 2024 as compared to Loss before tax of RM22.08 million in the preceding financial year. The higher PBT in current financial year was mainly contributed by increased revenue, primarily driven by increased sales volume of foundation piles and IBS products. Moving forward, our strategic recalibrations and a heightened focus on leveraging expansive government infrastructure initiatives ensure that we are well-equipped to navigate the complexities of the current economic landscape. By maintaining a robust operational framework and seizing strategic growth opportunities, SCIB is committed to delivering sustained value and long-term growth to our stakeholders, affirming our position as a leader in the industry.

The Group recorded a loss before tax of RM22.1 million as compared to RM53.4 million in FYE 2022, representing a decrease of RM31.3 million. The increase of the Group’s gross profit is due to increase in Group’s sales and productivity. The RMWG has met numerous times to identify, address and manage those risks that are deemed critical and will greatly affect the daily operations of our factories. The said committee will also review the effectiveness of the actions taken to mitigate those risks and recommend further steps where and when required. Management is of the opinion that the operational and financial risks are properly mitigated to a minimum level.

The Group recorded revenue of RM30.3 million and loss before tax of RM942,000 for the current quarter, compared to revenue of RM26.3 million and loss before tax of RM47.4 million in the immediate preceding quarter, representing a 15.2% increase in revenue and 98% decrease in loss before tax. The Group’s revenue has improved as compared to the immediate preceding quarter mainly due to higher sales volume of its foundation piles for the roads upgrading, extension of factories and school projects in Sarawak. This in turn has led to enhanced profit before tax as compared to preceding quarter

The Group recorded a loss before tax of RM53.4 million as compared with an annualized profit before tax of RM3.8 million in FPE 2021, representing a decrease of RM57.3 million. The LBT is mainly attributed to the net impairment loss on trade and other receivables, and contract assets of RM24.8 million and expenditure incurred in consultation fees on project related activities of RM26 million. We will continue to leverage on our strengths as a leading producer of precast concrete
and IBS, a specialist in small to mid-sized projects and collaborations in innovation and technology to ensure business
sustainability as well as to continue carving a niche for ourselves, both in Sabah and Sarawak and in Peninsular Malaysia.
