BURSA MALAYSIA –
The Group’s profit before tax in the current quarter (Q4FY2024) at RM33.813 million as compared to the profit before tax of RM12.949 million in the corresponding quarter last year showed an increase of RM20.864 million. The increase in revenue and overall uptrend in gold prices had improved the operating profits in the current quarter under review. Going Forward, The Group will continuously monitor the impact of the current uncertainties on our operations, uphold and honour our
financial obligations and evaluate our performance on a continuous basis.
BURSA MALAYSIA –
the profit dipped due mainly to a rise in operating expenses in FY2023. PKHB recorded a profit before tax of RM108.21 million in FYE 2023 compared to RM116.61 million in the preceding year. Gold will continue to play a key role as a strategic long-term investment. This, together with the measures being put in place to drive business performance and shareholder returns, will strengthen Poh Kong’s market position. We will continue to push boundaries and foster innovation in our efforts to deliver sustainable growth as we move forward.
BURSA MALAYSIA –
Group revenue increased to RM1.36 billion from RM903.10 million in the previous year on the back of an increased demand for gold jewellery and gold investment products. PKHB recorded a profit before tax of RM116.61 million in FYE 2022 compared to RM52.82 million in the preceding year. This was higher by RM63.79 million or 121%. We have made meaningful progress in a very challenging market environment by keeping our focus on the needs and preferences of our consumers. Cost discipline has become an integral part of the Poh Kong culture. We also see the strength of our business in the commitment, confidence and engagement of the Poh Kong Management Team and staff. We continue to deepen our expertise in digital technology and eCommerce and expect that this investment will pay off in significant ways.

PKHB recorded a proft before tax of RM52.82 million in FYE 2021 compared to RM38.98 million in the preceding year. This was higher by RM13.84 million or 35.51%. As always Poh Kong remains cautiously optimistic about its ability to improve performance in FYE 2022. Gold is a strategic asset, outperforming many other asset classes. Notwithstanding the volatility of gold prices, Poh Kong will continue to leverage its expertise and experience and prospect for new opportunities for business growth.

The fluctuation of gold prices inevitably affected the Group’s operating profits during the quarter under review by 24% as compared with the preceding quarter.

For Q4 2020, the Group reported a revenue of RM179.296 million and PBT of RM15.903 million as compared to the Group revenue of RM112.456 million and LBT of RM1.693 million for Q3 2020. The Group resumed businesses during CMCO and RMCO. This resulted in increase in revenue and profit.
BURSA MALAYSIA –
The Group was not allowed to operate during the MCO periods. This resulted in a sharp decrease in revenue of 55% and profit of 122% during the quarter under review as compared with the preceding quarter.

The Group’s revenue for the second quarter under review was lower at RM252.051 million as compared to the revenue in the corresponding quarter last year of RM273.913 million. The decrease of RM21.862 million was due mainly to a decrease in demand of gold jewellery products during the quarter under review.
