BURSA MALAYSIA –
Profit after tax for the FY22 was RM110.4 million represents a 28% decrease from the previous year (2021: RM152.8 million). This decrease is mainly due to the correction from the exceptionally high metallic silicon price in the previous year. The plant expansion which is expected to be completed by third quarter 2023 plays an important role in the production by the way of cost reduction and increase operational efficiency when it comes to leveraging work force and raw material management, especially during routine maintenance of the plant. In terms of the procurement, the Group will be able to secure larger quantities of raw materials at a lower price to remain competitive in the global market. In the longer run, the Group is optimistic about achieving a greater economy of scale in production. Besides that, automation of certain production processes was also one of the Group’s approaches to sustain in this relatively tight labour market. In terms of ESG, the Group will continue to improve and play its role as a green manufacturer by aligning our core values in achieving net zero emissions by 2050 without compromising the Group’s overall performance.
BURSA MALAYSIA –
The Group recorded a revenue of RM312.8 million in the current quarter, representing an increase by 20% as compared to RM260.2 million in the preceding quarter. The increase was mainly due to higher revenue contribution from both segments during the current quarter under review. Higher raw material cost and operating cost coupled with lower metallic silicon price, the PBT decreased by 50% from RM42.8 million to RM21.6 million.
BURSA MALAYSIA –
The Group recorded a revenue of RM260.2 million in the current quarter, representing a decrease by 14% as compared to RM302.0 million in the preceding quarter. The decrease was mainly due to lower metallic silicon selling price and quantity during the current quarter under review. Lower revenue coupled with higher operating cost, the PBT decreased by 38% from RM68.6 million to RM42.8 million.
BURSA MALAYSIA –
Revenue for the Group recorded RM302.0 million in the current quarter, representing a decrease by 18% as compared to RM370.4 million in the preceding quarter. The decrease was due to lower metallic silicon price and slower progress for certain on-going projects during the current quarter under review. In tandem with lower revenue and higher operating cost, the PBT decreased by 49.1% from RM134.9 million to RM65.6 million.

The Group’s PBT surged from RM34.3 million to RM134.9 million, mainly due to higher metallic silicon price after offsetting higher raw materials cost and operating expenses.

The increase was mainly attributable to the acceleration of progress of certain on- going projects and higher metallic silicon sales during the current quarter under review.The Group’s PBT increased from RM14.5 million to RM34.3 million, mainly due to higher metallic silicon price after offsetting higher raw materials cost and operating expenses.

The Group’s PBT increased from RM9.8 million to RM14.5 million, mainly due to higher metallic silicon price after offsetting higher operating expenses.

The Group’s revenue decreased by 17% or RM33.9 million from RM195.7 million to RM161.8 million. The decrease was mainly attributable to slower progress of certain on-going projects and lower sales from the metallic silicon plant during the current quarter under review. However, the Group’s PBT increased from RM8.3 million to RM9.8 million, mainly due to higher selling price of metallic silicon after offsetting higher operating expenses.
BURSA MALAYSIA –
The Group’s revenue decreased by 52% or RM90.7 million from RM175.6 million to RM84.9 million. The decrease was mainly attributable to lower revenue contributed by both segments resulted from the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown in Q2/20. In tandem with lower revenue, the Group’s PBT decreased by RM2.2 million from RM3.8 million to RM1.6 million
BURSA MALAYSIA –
The Group’s revenue increased by 39% or RM48.9 million from RM126.7 million to RM175.6 million. The increase was mainly attributable to higher revenue contributed by the metallic silicon plant. However, the Group’s PBT decreased by RM4.3 million from RM8.1 million to RM3.8 million. It was mainly due to lower contribution from Manufacturing and Trading segment resulted from higher operating expenses.
REMUNERATION STUDY –
In Financial Year End 2019, the directors’ remuneration was 2.09 million. It was slightly low compared to average in listed companies, considering the employees’ remuneration of 49.6 million and auditor’s remuneration of 328 thousands
BURSA MALAYSIA –
The Group posted a profit before tax of RM8.2 million for the current quarter ended 31 December 2019 as compared to a profit before tax of RM4.4 million for preceding quarter. The higher profit was mainly due to higher revenue recognition by Phase 19 & 20 – Harp, double storey cluster homes at Taman Desa Tebrau in Johor which is reaching to its completion stage. Hotel division has also contributed higher profit.
BURSA MALAYSIA –
The Group’s revenue increased by RM14.0 million from RM112.7 million to RM126.7 million. The increase was mainly attributable to the higher contribution from Construction and Fabrication segment and the inclusion of revenue from the new metallic silicon plant. In line with higher revenue, the Group’s PBT increased by RM2.2 million from RM5.9 million to RM8.1 million.

PMBTECH (6 JAN 20) PMB Technology Bhd, recognising the potential, jumped into the metallic silicon business last year in an attempt to diversify its business but more so to get a foothold in more value-added segments and products.
