The Group reported a profit before taxation for the current quarter year ended 31 May 2024 of RM0.49 million as compared to a profit before taxation of RM1.47 million in the preceding corresponding quarter in line with decreasing in revenue mainly due to decrease in fuel oil and manufacturing volume. Looking Forward, Current economic situation continues to present challenging business conditions for the Group. Higher operational costs in terms of rising cost of wages, utilities, logistics, other operational expenses and also fluctuations in foreign currency exchange rates remain as main challenges for the Group. Efforts will continuously be made in improving the performance of the respective segments. The Group will remain resilient and vigilant in addressing these challenges in its’ business activities.

The Group recorded a profit before tax of RM0.62 million in comparison to the preceding year loss before tax of RM2.83 million. The increase in revenue and profit before tax for the year was mainly due to higher trading fuel oil prices and volume, increase in occupancy rate of our hotel operations and foreign exchange gain. The Group has taken cost containment measures and will remain cautious and vigilant in addressing these challenges in its’ business activities. We are also monitoring the crude palm oil market price closely to ensure that the fractionation plant will commence at a viable level so that our prices remain competitive. We foresee the performance of our integrated hotel operations and property investment segment to continue to improve in the coming year. We will strengthen our efforts to improve the overall occupancy rates of our hotel rooms and retail and office space.

Revenue for the current quarter was RM59.05 million compared to RM87.80 million recorded in the immediate preceding quarter. The impact of Covid-19 pandemic on the travel and tourism industry in Malaysia and globally has materially disrupted the Group’s integrated hotel operations and property investment segment activities during the current quarter. Overall, the Group reported a loss before taxation for the current quarter of RM0.52 million in the preceding corresponding quarter mainly due to lower soap and tolling volume and also the impact of Covid-19.
