    BURSA MALAYSIA

Group pre-tax profit rose 12.0% to RM109.0 million, bolstered by improved profit contributions from all three divisions, partially offset by higher foreign exchange losses. The Power Division registered increase in energy sales due to higher water levels. Revenue of the Resources Division rebounded strongly following the opening up of the economy in Malaysia and the region after 2-3 months of lockdown. Sales contribution from the Packaging & Labels Division was up 30.1% on increased orders from new customers and a gradual recovery of orders from existing customers.

    BURSA MALAYSIA

Group turnover declined 17.8% from RM195.5 million in 4Q2019 to RM160.7 million in 1Q2020 due to the absence of construction revenue. Pre-tax profit in the current quarter was 29.6% lower at RM66.5 million (4Q2019: RM94.5 million). The decline in pre-tax profit was due to the absence of construction profit, partially offset by a RM36.2 million increase in pre-tax income from energy sales to EDL and higher pre-tax profit from the Resources Divisions and the Packaging & Labels Division.

    BURSA MALAYSIA

Group revenue rose 55.8% from RM125.5 million to RM195.5 million. The increase in revenue was due to an improvement in construction revenue and first-time recognition of energy sales, partially offset by a reduction in revenue contribution from the Resources Division. Group pre-tax profit surged from RM18.9 million to RM94.5 million, underpinned by higher construction profit and maiden income from energy sales, partially offset by lower pre-tax profit contribution from the Resources Division and higher losses at Investment Holding & Others.
