BURSA MALAYSIA –
The Group recorded higher revenue of RM24.13 million and a higher profit before tax of RM2.03 million as compared to revenue of RM21.41 million and profit before tax of RM1.55 million respectively in the immediate preceding financial quarter ended 31 March 2022. The increase in profit before tax is mainly due to the reduction in the price of raw materials. In addition, higher sales demand for outdoor lighting products which generally command higher sales margin for current financial quarter ended 30 June 2022.
BURSA MALAYSIA –
The Group recorded lower revenue of RM21.41 million and a lower profit before tax of RM1.55 million as compared to revenue of RM21.49 million and profit before tax of RM1.73 million respectively in the immediate preceding financial quarter ended 31 December 2021. The decrease in profit before tax is mainly due to fluctuations in the price of raw materials (i.e. steel plates and steel pipes) in view of ongoing Russia-Ukraine conflict for current financial quarter ended 31 March 2022.
BURSA MALAYSIA –
The Group recorded higher revenue of RM21.49 million and a higher profit before tax of RM1.72 million as compared to revenue of RM14.27 million and profit before tax of RM1.19 million respectively in the immediate preceding financial quarter ended 30 September 2021. The increase in revenue is mainly due to government has opened the economy phase by phase under the National Recovery Plan in September 2021 which has improved our scheduled deliveries of products to customers for current financial quarter ended 31 December 2021.

The Group recorded higher revenue of RM14.27 million and a higher profit before tax of RM1.19 million as compared to revenue of RM10.97 million and profit before tax of RM0.16 million respectively in the immediate preceding financial quarter ended 30 June 2021. The increase is mainly due to government has opened the economy phase by phase under the National Recovery Plan in September 2021 which has improved our scheduled deliveries of
products to customers.
BURSA MALAYSIA –
The Group recorded lower revenue of RM11.63 million and a lower profit before tax of RM1.80 million as compared to revenue of RM18.60 million and profit before tax of RM3.24 million respectively in the immediate preceding financial quarter ended 31 December 2020. The decrease is mainly due to lower demand for our products due to the reintroduction of the movement control order (“MCO”) from 13 January 2021 which has resulted in delayed in our scheduled deliveries of products

Stocks to watch on Tuesday include Mestron Holdings Bhd, according to JF Apex Research. Mestron has issued a clarification to say that it did not obtain approval or a clearance letter from the Ministry of Health (MoH) to purchase or distribute Covid-19 vaccines in Malaysia. Instead, it clarified that its intention is to explore and venture into the vaccine distribution business by partnering with China-based Zhongyu Yexing (Chengdu) Industrial Co Ltd.
The Star –
Mestron Holdings Bhd is expected to invest up to RM20mil in its tie-up with China-based Zhongyu Yexing (Chengdu) Industrial Co., Ltd to distribute the Covid-19 vaccine in Malaysia. In a statement on Friday, Mestron said the RM20mil will be financed via its own funds, bank loans and proceeds from a private placement. The steel pole maker had signed a head of agreement with Zhongyu, which is part of Sino Pharma Group of Companies (Sinopharm).

Shares in Mestron Holdings Bhd climbed 2% to an all-time high in early trade Wednesday on the back of a positive technical outlook for the stock. The steel pole maker rose 2.22%, or 0.5 sen to 23 sen with 34 million shares traded. AmInvestment Bank Research said Mestron consolidated and touched the 22 sen resistance level. With its RSI indicator pointing upwards, coupled with higher trading volume, there is a good chance it will experience a technical breakout and head towards the short-term target price of 23.5 sen, followed by 24.5 sen.

Steel-related counters on Bursa Malaysia began the week with further big gains after the government announced the second round of anti-dumping duties on foreign steel products in less than a week. A quick check on the stock exchange’s list of most active counters showed that many steel players appeared among the top 30 stocks. Yesterday, Mestron Holdings Bhd gained 10.26% to 21.5 sen.

There is a long list of stocks to watch for on Monday following the announcement of corporate earnings and activities in the previous week, according to JF Apex Research. Mestron is teaming up with Samdo Smart Solar (M) Sdn Bhd to jointly undertake engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning (EPCC) services for six solar power systems for telecommunication towers in Malaysia.
The Edge –
Mestron Holdings Bhd’s third quarter ended Sept 30, 2020 (3QFY20) net profit surged 183% to RM3.09 million, from RM1.09 million a year prior. Quarterly revenue grew to RM19.07 million from RM17.95 million. The earnings growth was due to a post-Movement Control Order sales recovery. For the nine months ended Sept 30, Mestron posted a net profit of RM3.89 million versus RM1.49 million a year ago, despite lower revenue of RM38.04 million against RM53.32 million earlier.

The Group recorded higher revenue of RM19.07 million and a higher profit before tax of RM4.19 million as compared to RM7.84 million and profit before tax of RM6 thousand respectively in the immediate preceding financial quarter ended 30 June 2020. The increase is mainly due to higher demand for manufactured products due to the upliftment of MCO and introduction of Recovery Movement Control Order

For the current financial quarter ended 30 June 2020, the Group recorded lower revenue of RM7.8 million and a lower profit before tax of RM6 thousand as compared to RM11.1 million and profit before tax of RM1.2 million respectively in the immediate preceding financial quarter. The decrease is mainly due to lower demand for manufactured products due to the ripple effect of the global outbreak of Covid-19 temporary slowdown in our sales as a result of the implementation of Movement Control Order.

For the current financial quarter ended 31 March 2020, the Group recorded lower revenue of RM11.13 million and a lower profit before tax of RM1.22 million as compared to RM 15.66 million and profit before tax of RM1.42 million respectively in the immediate preceding financial quarter ended 31 December 2019 mainly due to temporary slowdown due to Chinese New Year and lower demand for manufactured products due to the ripple effect of the global outbreak of Covid-19 temporary halt in our business operations as a result of the implementation of Movement Control Order
BURSA MALAYSIA –
For the current quarter ended 31 December 2019, the Group recorded lower revenue of RM15.66 million and a lower profit before tax of RM1.42 million as compared to RM 17.98 million and profit of RM1.46 million respectively in preceding quarter mainly due to lower demand in both the manufacturing and trading segment of the group as affected by the slowdown in Malaysian construction sector.
