BURSA MALAYSIA –
EBITDA decreased by RM18 million (1.8%) due to the usual promotion for newly launched devices in Q4’22, resulting in a higher take-up of device-bundled packages and hence higher device costs. Profit before tax and profit after tax decreased by RM61 million (13.0%) and RM76 million (24.1%) respectively due to the consequential decline from EBITDA, along with higher depreciation and amortisation expenses in the current quarter.
BURSA MALAYSIA –
The Group recorded a total revenue for Q3 1 of RM2,263 million in-line with Q2 21 of RM2,264 million. The service revenue for Q3 1 of RM2,025 million compared to Q2 21 of RM1,988 million which represents a 1.9% increase, that is RM37 million, on the back of better contribution from Postpaid and Fibre businesses
The Star –
Maxis is among the companies to watch on Monday after their recent corporate announcements, TA Securities Research said. Maxis’s unit Maxis Broadband Sdn Bhd has been hit with an RM140.0mil tax bill after served with notices of additional assessment with penalties for tax years 2016 and 2017 from the Inland Revenue Board on Nov 17.
BURSA MALAYSIA –
The Group reported for Q2’20 a normalised profit of RM338 million, a decrease of 6.1% that is RM22 million compared to RM360 million in Q1’20, the preceding quarter. This is due to slightly increasing depreciation on new plant, property and equipment. Capex for the current quarter Q2’20 was RM259 million, in- line with our normal phasing of capex, lower in Q1 and progressively higher towards Q4, for the ongoing continued investment in network capacity to support the data traffic growth, investment in Home Fibre and Enterprise growth
BURSA MALAYSIA –
Postpaid ARPU for declined to RM 86 from RM 90 for due to Mobile Termination Rate reduction and initial COVID 19 impact. The Government Movement Control Order (MCO) started on 18 March 2020 and this means that all people should stay at home, except for workers in essential service areas. Postpaid data usage per month grew by 8.4% to 16.7GB due to increase in data usage at home.
REMUNERATION STUDY –
In Financial Year End 2019, the directors’ remuneration was 19 million. It was fair compared to average in listed companies, considering the employees’ remuneration of 651 million and auditor’s remuneration of 1000 thousands
INVESTING MALAYSIA –
6 MAR 20 – Celcom Axiata Bhd, Digi Telecommunications Sdn Bhd and Maxis Bhd have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to explore joint fibre infrastructure development to efficiently deploy fibre backhaul and rollout fibre to base stations in the country.
BURSA MALAYSIA –
Total equity of the Group remained stable. Net debt-to-EBITDA increased from 1.86x as at 31 December 2018 to 2.24x as at 31 December 2019 mainly due to the increase in lease liabilities.
