BURSA MALAYSIA –
The Group reported a lower profit before tax of RM29.9 million, a decrease of RM75.6 million compared to previous financial year as a result of recent market volatility which saw significant increase in interest rates and a drop in equity markets. Looking ahead, The group plans to continue strengthen our foundation for stronger growth in the future. This will involve driving advisor recruitment, onboarding differentiated best-inclass funds that will provide greater choice and diversification for our investors, enhancing Manulife iFunds features, and seeking further opportunities in the institutional space.
BURSA MALAYSIA –
The Group recorded a loss before tax of RM7.6 million in Q4 2022 compared with a profit before tax of RM31.2 million for Q3 2022. The increase in loss before tax of RM38.8 million was due to higher medical claim experience and reserve strengthening to favourable equity movement during Q4 2022 and lower unrealised foreign exchange gains
BURSA MALAYSIA –
The Group’s operating revenue for the current quarter under review increased by RM35.5 million compared with the preceding quarter ended 30 June 2022. The Group recorded a profit before tax of RM31.2 million in Q3 2022 compared with a profit before tax of RM1.2 million for Q2 2022. Investment holding operating revenue and profit before tax increased marginally by RM0.7 million and RM0.3 million due to higher interest income from bonds. Life insurance business operating revenue of life insurance business increased by RM36.0 million mainly due to higher premium income and dividend income
BURSA MALAYSIA –
The Group’s operating revenue for the current quarter under review (“Q2 2020”) decreased by RM82.5 mil as compared to the preceding quarter ended 31 March 2020 (“Q1 2020”). Profit before tax rose by RM1.3 million mainly due to lower impairment on quoted securities and lower expenses in the current period.
REMUNERATION STUDY –
In Financial Year End 2019, the directors’ remuneration was 7.13 million. It was fair compared to average in listed companies, considering the employees’ remuneration of 95 million and auditor’s remuneration of 613 thousands
BURSA MALAYSIA –
The Group’s operating revenue for Q1 2020 decreased by RM35.9 mil as compared to Q4 2019. The Group recorded a profit before tax of RM13.5 million in Q1 2020 as compared to a profit before taxation at RM19.9 million in Q4 2019. The decrease in profit before taxation was contributed by increase in investment holding segment, decrease in life insurance business and asset management services segment has remained consistent.
BURSA MALAYSIA –
The Group recorded a revenue of RM403.939 million and PBT of RM19.895 million in Q4 2019compared to revenue of RM313.976 million and LBT of RM7.462 million in Q3 2019. Investment holding’s PBT improved by RM1.7 million mainly due to higher realized gains on disposal of bonds. Life insurance business’s PBT increase by RM26.4 million mainly due to higher premium income recorded in Q4 2019 offset by higher reserve due to change in interest rate and worsened claims experience. Asset management services’s PBT recorded a fairly consistent PBT.

MANULIFE (8 JAN 20) Manulife Insurance Bhd (MIB) plans to tap into the under-penetrated takaful market in Malaysia by inking a five-year strategic partnership with Takaful Ikhlas Family Bhd and is eyeing over RM30 million in new business premiums over the period.
