BURSA MALAYSIA –
The Group recorded a LBT of RM17.7 million for financial year ended 30 June 2024 as compared to PBT of RM3.2 million in previous financial year. The LBT incurred was due to losses across segment of Investment holdings, Hospitality Services, Credit Services, Education services, Cinema Services and others. Moving forward, The Group will focus on expanding its current business segments, seeking new opportunities to diversify revenue. In hospitality, the Group plans strategic collaborations, expanding hotel and serviced apartment management as well as Airbnb and homestay operations. Additionally, it aims to grow its film distribution and cinema presence in Sabah and to establish private international schools. The Group also seeks to strengthen its financing segment through loan and debt factoring growth.
BURSA MALAYSIA –
The Group recorded a Loss Before Tax of RM0.2 million for FYE 30 June 2023. General Insurance business and Education Services segment recorded PBT of RM19.2 million and RM5.9 million respectively. However, these profits were offset by Loss Before Tax of RM5.0 million from Investment Holdings segment, LBT of RM1.8 million from Credit services segment, LBT of RM12.6 million from Hospitality Services segment and LBT of RM5.9 million from Other segments. The Group expects the General Insurance business in the Philippines to continue with premium growth and improved profit margins in FY2024 and MAAGAP being the main revenue contributor to the Group.
BURSA MALAYSIA –
The Group recorded total operating revenue of RM69.0 million in current quarter ended 31 December 2022 (“Q2 FY2023”), a decrease of 3.3% from RM71.3 million in the immediate preceding quarter ended 30 September 2022 (“Q1 FY2023”). The decrease mainly from lower gross earned premiums from General insurance business of RM42.5 million (Q1 FY2023: RM45.5 million). Despite of lower operating revenue recorded in Q2 FY2023, the Group recorded a higher PBT of RM5.8 million in Q2 FY2023 mainly contributed by lower net claims incurred of RM5.4 million (Q1 FY2023: RM11.4 million) from General insurance business.
BURSA MALAYSIA –
The Group recorded a PBT of RM4.6 million in Q1 FY2023. The profit in Q1 FY2023 mainly due to fair value gains of RM8.2 million (Q6 FY2022: fair value losses of RM20.9 million) from equity investments classified at FVTPL, lower net claims incurred of RM11.4 million (Q6 FY2022: RM18.3 million) and lower allowance for impairment loss totaling of RM0.4 million (Q6 FY2022: RM39.4 million) on factoring and term loan receivables.
BURSA MALAYSIA –
The Group recorded a lower PBT of RM14.8 million as compared to PBT of RM18.1 million in the preceding financial quarter ended 31 December 2020 (“4Q-2020”). Inspite of higher gross earned premiums, lower claim incurred and lower management expenses recorded in 1Q-2021, the lower profit was mainly due to lower net fair value gains of RM2.7 million (4Q-2020: RM19.1 million) from equity investments classified at FVTPL and lower gains from disposal of investments of RM4.2 million (4Q-2020: RM7.3 million).
BURSA MALAYSIA –
In 2Q-2020, the Group recorded a PBT of RM29.2 million (1Q-2020: LBT of RM28.6 million), mainly contributed by a net fair value gains of RM7.8 million (1Q-2020: losses of RM21.2 million) on equity investments classified at FVTPL and realised gains of RM14.7 million (1Q-2020: losses of RM3.9 million) from disposal of investments.
BURSA MALAYSIA –
In 1Q-2020, the Group recorded a higher LBT of RM28.6 million (4Q-2019: LBT of RM27.5 million), mainly caused by a higher net fair value losses of RM21.2 million (4Q-2019: losses of RM3.0 million) on equity investments classified at FVTPL and realised losses of RM3.9 million (4Q-2019: gains of RM0.3 million) from disposal of investments.
REMUNERATION STUDY –
In Financial Year End 2019, the directors’ remuneration was 5.54 million. It was slightly high compared to average in listed companies, considering the employees’ remuneration of 21.1 million and auditor’s remuneration of 320 thousands
