The Edge –
Focus Dynamics Group Bhd and LKL International Bhd have teamed up to initiate the rollout of a chain of lifestyle-based pharmacies in the Klang Valley, and eventually nationwide. The two companies will set up a dedicated vehicle to house the new business, with Focus Dynamics taking a majority stake of 60% and LKL the remaining 40%.
BURSA MALAYSIA –
In line with the higher sales recorded across both segments, the Group’s gross profit improved 27.1% or RM0.829 million to RM3.886 million from RM3.057 million in the preceding financial quarter. With more favourable product mix sold in the current financial quarter, gross profit margin improved to 33.5% compared to 31.8% in the preceding financial quarter. Consequently, the current financial quarter’s LBT of RM0.118 million represented a substantial improvement over the preceding financial quarter’s LBT of RM1.143 million.

LKL International Bhd has announced that its subsidiary LKLAdvance Metaltech Sdn Bhd has secured exclusive distributorship rights for Singapore-based iWOWTechnology Pte Ltd’s trace token nationwide and targets Selangor to be the first State in Malaysia to adopt the device. LKL said the group will market, sell and distribute trace tokens to assist Selangor’s efforts in containing the spread of the Covid-19 virus

LKL International Bhd’s wholly-owned subsidiary LKL Advance Metaltech Sdn Bhd had today entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with Singapore-based iWOW Technology Pte Ltd to explore a potential cooperation to market and develop an electronic Covid-19 contact tracing product. iWOW manufactures trace token products, which use highly-secured Bluetooth devices that detect other devices to facilitate digital contact tracing in response to the Covid-19 pandemic.

LKL International Bhd is buying two pieces of freehold industrial land in Seri Kembangan for RM12 million or RM556 per sq ft. The lands, measuring a combined built-up area of 21,600 sq ft or 0.49 acres, also comes with two units of three-storey semi-detached factory erected on top. The group’s wholly-owned subsidiary LKL Advance Metaltech Sdn Bhd inked the sale and purchase agreement today for the acquisition of the land from Positive Frontier Sdn Bhd, a private limited company engaged in property investment and development. It is wholly-owned by SE Commerce Sdn Bhd.

LKL International Bhd’s (LKLIB) subsidiary, LKL Advance Metaltech Sdn Bhd (LKLAM), has signed a distributorship agreement with Komarkcorp Bhd’s, Komark Mask (M) Sdn Bhd, to sell and distribute Komark Mask’s disposable medical grade face masks worldwide. In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, LKLIB said both parties targeted to secure a significant slice of the regional market for the disposable masks and personal protective equipment (PPE), which researchers have projected to grow up to US$2bil by 2026. LKLIB is a market leader in supplying medical beds, healthcare accessories and other medical peripheral products, and has developed markets across 30 countries.

LKL International Bhd is among the stocks which could see trading interest on Tuesday following the latest corporate earnings and announcements, TA Securities Research says. TA Research highlighted that LKL International Bhd has secured a RM163.2mil contract to supply nitrile examination gloves to Shang Hong International (Hong Kong) Ltd.

Medical and healthcare equipment provider LKL Intenational Bhd aims to sustain its double-digit revenue growth for the financial year ending April 30,2021 (FY21) by leveraging on its expanded product mix. During the pandemic, they grew business by supplying medical devices, gloves and other personal protective equipment. On its expansion plans, they said RM13mil would be used to purchase and set up two units of adjoining new factory buildings to be used for the manufacture and assembly of medical/healthcare beds, peripherals and accessories, production office, warehouse, and finished products.

LKL International Bhd’s net profit for the first quarter ended July 31, 2020 leaped to RM1.24 million, from RM124,000 a year ago. Revenue more than doubled to RM19.28 million, from RM9.35 million. The group also announced that it would be purchasing 60% of dialysis equipment player Tahmaz Meditech Sdn Bhd for RM12 million, which will be paid for through an issuance of RM12 million new LKL shares at RM1 a piece-issued to Tahmaz Meditech’s owners.
BURSA MALAYSIA –
The Group’s revenue for the current quarter declined to RM19.278 million from RM21.454 million in the preceding quarter. This was mainly due to lower sales of manufactured medical beds and distributed medical devices, partially offset by higher sales of distributed medical peripherals and accessories. The Group recorded PBT of RM1.715 million for current quarter compared to a PBT of RM3.626 million in the preceding quarter mainly due to the product mix sold.

LKL International Bhd has finally revealed the identity of the Chinese company, namely Weihai Textile Group Import and Export Co Ltd, that granted it the RM78.5 million nitrile glove supply contract. The announcement came after the company was queried by Bursa Malaysia for more details of the contract. Just a week ago, LKL said it could not reveal the name of the new customer, as the latter had denied its request to reveal its identity.

LKL International Bhd’s unit LKL Advance MetalTech Sdn Bhd has secured a US$18.96mil (RM78.49mil) contract to supply nitrile gloves to a China-based company. This contract represents the company’s first export contract to China, plus its maiden venture into the distribution of examination gloves to the medical and healthcare sector.
