BURSA MALAYSIA –
The group reported a loss after tax of RM43. 28 million for financial year ended 31 December 2022 due mainly to the loss of the income stream from The Andaman. Going forward, the Board will, in addition to routine business during the current financial year, continue to look into the enhancement or development of ESG and corporate governance policies and procedures in the best interest of the Company’s shareholders and stakeholders.
BURSA MALAYSIA –
The lower group’s losses before tax by 63% in current quarter were mainly due to one-off gain of RM3.71 million arising from disposal of other investment, an additional RM5.47 million written off in preceding quarter on the property, plant and equipment and reduction of RM2.00 million estimated insurance claim receivable as a results of the Andaman fire incident in January 2021.
BURSA MALAYSIA –
The higher group losses before tax in the current quarter by 46% were mainly due to additional RM5.47 million writing off of the affected property, plant and equipment due to The Andaman fire incident in January 2021 and work in progress which has become redundant.

The lower group losses before tax in the current quarter of 10% were mainly due to The Andaman incurring lower operating expenses resulting from the reduction of staff force following the fire incident which happened on 12 Jan 2021.

The reduction in PBT by 64% was mainly due to gain on disposal of Mendol Investments Group and recognition of fair value gain on investment in a joint venture in preceding quarter totalling RM 63.71 million.

The turnaround from LBT of RM16.07 million in 3Q 2020 to PBT of RM46.31 million in 4Q 2020 was mainly due to one-off gain on disposal of 51% equity shares in subsidiaries of RM32.65 million and fair value gain recognized on investment in subsidiaries became joint venture of RM31.07 million.
BURSA MALAYSIA –
LBT decreased by 22% from RM20.50 million in 2Q 2020 to RM16.07 million in 3Q 2020 mainly due to business operations of the Group’s resorts and leisure operations having been resumed on 1 July 2020 in Malaysia and in stages in Indonesia with effect from 31 July 2020 respectively
BURSA MALAYSIA –
LBT increased by 78% from RM11.52 million in 1Q 2020 to RM20.50 million in 2Q 2020 mainly due to temporary closure of operations of the Group’s resorts and leisure operations in Malaysia and Indonesia.
REMUNERATION STUDY –
In Financial Year End 2019, the directors’ remuneration was 4.77 million. It was slightly high compared to average in listed companies, considering the employees’ remuneration of 62.5 million and auditor’s remuneration of 306 thousands
BURSA MALAYSIA –
The Andaman at Langkawi achieved a 3% increase in revenue in 1Q2020 as compared to 4Q2019 whereas Treasure Bay Bintan recorded a reduction of 54% in revenue. LBT decreased by 36% from RM17.80 million in 4Q2019 to RM11.52 million in 1Q2020 mainly due to an increase in contribution from The Andaman at Langkawi and write-off in 4Q 2019 of loan financing transaction costs.
BURSA MALAYSIA –
Compared to the preceding quarter ended 30 September 2019 (3Q 2019), revenue increased by 18% from RM28.07 million in 3Q 2019 to RM33.00 million in 4Q 2019. LBT increased by 64% from RM10.98 million in 3Q 2019 to RM18.00 million in 4Q 2019 mainly due to loan financing transaction cost written off in Q4 2019 amounting to RM7.44 million.
