BURSA MALAYSIA –
The group’s Profit before tax recorded a 162% increase to RM257.2 million in FYE2022 as compared to profit before tax of RM98 million in FYE2021 due to better refining margins, higher forex gain, reversal of impairment loss recognised on an overseas hotel, better hotel occupancies and average room rates. Moving Forward, Management will continue to seek cost saving initiatives to help counter the recent severe price increase in goods and other operating expenses.
BURSA MALAYSIA –
The Group recorded a marginally higher profit in 3rd Q 2022 by 1% as compared to 2nd Q 2022. The hotel segment recorded a higher profit due mainly to higher occupancy and average room rate for Hawaii hotel and Canada hotel. The segment also recorded a one off gain from waiver of loan received by foreign subsidiaries in United States of America, under Paycheck Protection Program in 3rd Q 2022.
BURSA MALAYSIA –
The Group recorded a higher profit in 4th Q 2021 by 102% as compared to 3rd Q 2021. The higher profit
was mainly contributed by the progress recognition of revenue recorded from sales of a piece of light industrial land in Tanjong Puteri Resort and higher number of units sold for certain residential and commercial properties.
BURSA MALAYSIA –
The Group recorded a profit in 1st Q 2021 as compared to a loss in 4th Q 2020. Manufacturing segment recorded a higher profit in 1st Q 2021 as compared to 4th Q 2020. The higher profit was due mainly to appreciation of USD against Ringgit in 1st Q 2021 as compared to depreciation of USD against Ringgit in 4th Q 2020.
BURSA MALAYSIA –
The Group’s revenue in 2nd Q 2020 was lower than 1st Q 2020 by 33%. The Property Development segment recorded a lower number of units sold for both residential and commercial properties as compared to preceding quarter. The Hotel segment recorded a sharp decrease in revenue in 2nd Q 2020 as compared to preceding period mainly due to temporary closure of overseas hotels caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.
BURSA MALAYSIA –
The decrease in revenue by 5% was mainly due to lower revenue recorded in hotels segment. The lower revenue in 1st Q 2020 as compared to preceding quarter was due to lower occupancy and average room rate.
REMUNERATION STUDY –
In Financial Year End 2019, the directors’ remuneration was 10.97 million. It was high compared to average in listed companies, considering the employees’ remuneration of 137 million and auditor’s remuneration of 247 thousands
