The Group”s reported revenue of RM60.01 million decreased by 22.2% from FY2022, while profit before tax was RM7.08 million, similar to the previous financial year of RM7.10 million. The decrease in revenue was mainly from the resins division due to lower sales volume, by 25.9%. At CIM, to eliminate the waste water disposal risks, retrofitting our existing distillery to operate on a zerodischarge mode will enable CIM to increase the production volume through the ability to operate, unimpeded by changes in environmental restriction and the need to safeguard the environment. In the case of BAP, we are in the process of debottlenecking the production to enable us to expand our business as we predict the demand for natural vinegar will increase as consumers become more health conscious. At HCS, the difficult market conditions will likely persist for the first part of FY2024, as demand for plywood and other wood panel products continues to be weak, triggered by stubborn inflation, rising interest rates and heightened uncertainties

Profit before tax for the current quarter was RM1.99 million as compared to RM1.68 million in the immediate preceding quarter mainly due to better results from both our resins and investment segments but this was partially set off by lower profit from the ethanol segment.

Profit before tax was RM12.59 million as compared to RM19.69 million last financial year. The majority of the decline in revenue and profit came from the resins division. The Group’s financial condition remains strong with a healthy financial position that has large cash holdings and no debt. At CIM, although we do not anticipate ethanol sales to equal the elevated levels of FY2020, we believe it will remain a solid contributor to revenue and profit. At HCS, difficult conditions will likely persist for the first part of FY2022, as demand continues to be weak from our customers and raw material prices remain at elevated levels

The Group registered a net revenue of RM131.5 million and profit before tax of RM4.7 million compared with the preceding quarter’s net revenue of RM176.5 million and loss before tax of RM5.1 million. The profit was mainly contributed by the cement segment which experienced improvement in the local cement net pricing, a result of lower sales rebates, and lower production costs. However, sales volumes for both segments were adversely due to Chinese New Year festive holidays and the MCO.
