BURSA MALAYSIA –
The Group recorded LBT of RM1.02 million for the current quarter ended 31 May 2024. The LBT was primarily due to lower average selling price of CPO, PK and FFB. In additions, losses incurred from property operation continue largely due to low occupancy rate of investment properties. Going forward, the Group will remain cautious and continue to chart out various strategies, which include efforts to increase efficiency and cost rationalization, to counter any negative impact to its business operations.
BURSA MALAYSIA –
The Group recorded a total of RM280.3 million in revenue, the majority of which is contributed by the Group’s core business operation, the Plantation Segment. EBITDAof the Plantation Segment remained squeezed with the rising plantation operating cost, distribution expenses and lower CPO oil extraction rate coupled with palm oil mill utilization below plan, despite the better average selling price of CPO and PK. After accounting for a reversal of a credit loss amounted to RM13.6 million, the Group recorded a gross profit before tax of RM2.5 million during FPE 2023. On 1 June 2023, Harn Len has completed the acquisition of Almal Resources Sdn Bhd (“ARSB”) that, through its wholly-owned subsidiary, owns the rights to a 60-year lease of a plantation land in Mukim Rompin, Pahang. The acquisition will increase the Group’s plantation land bank and provide opportunities to diversify the Group’s risk of reliance on the palm oil business.
