BURSA MALAYSIA –
The Group registered a LAT of RM10.770 million for the current quarter as compared to LAT of RM71.366 million in the preceding quarter due to the decrease in operating expenses in the current quarter, impairment loss on investment in associates and the fair value loss on quoted investment recognised in the preceding quarter.
BURSA MALAYSIA –
The Group reported a loss before taxation of RM71.83 million compared to a profit before taxation of RM21.98 million in FYE2020. The losses incurred was mainly contributed by the fair value loss on marketable securities of RM22.05 million, impairment loss on investment in associates of RM40.71 million, deemed loss on disposal of investment in an associate of RM17.87 million and a share of loss from the investment in associates. Focus Dynamics Centre Sdn. Bhd., a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Company, had entered into a Collaboration and Tenancy Agreement with Cergaz Autohaus Sdn. Bhd.) to jointly develop, promote and offer luxury and premium EVs motor vehicles at The Arch, Kuala Lumpur.
BURSA MALAYSIA –
The Group’s revenue increased to RM24.15 million from RM16.45 million in the preceding quarter, representing an increase of 46.76% or RM7.69 million due to Malaysia ease COVID-19 restrictions as the state moves to phase 4 of the National Recovery Plan, whereby food establishments can offer dine-in services for fully vaccinated persons with health protocols in place. The Group registered a LAT of RM5.60 million for the current quarter as compared to PAT of RM1.65 million in the preceding quarter due to the loss on fair value on quoted investment in the current quarter.
BURSA MALAYSIA –
The Group registered a decrease in revenue to RM16.80 million from RM23.38 million in the preceding quarter, representing a decrease of 28.12% or RM6.58 million due to re-implementation of Movement Control Order 3 from January 2021 onwards. The GP margin decreased to 43.54% during the 3 months ended 31 March 2021 as compared to a GP margin of 45.63% during the preceding quarter. The Group registered higher PAT of RM10.56 million as compared to RM9.12 million in the preceding quarter.
The Star –
Gamuda Bhd is among the eight companies that will be added to the MSCI Malaysia Small Cap Index with effect at the close of May 27. However, Careplus Group Bhd, Ekovest Bhd and Focus Dynamics Group Bhd will be removed. The MSCI Malaysia Small Cap Index was launched on June 1,2007.
The Edge –
Focus Dynamics Group Bhd and LKL International Bhd have teamed up to initiate the rollout of a chain of lifestyle-based pharmacies in the Klang Valley, and eventually nationwide. The two companies will set up a dedicated vehicle to house the new business, with Focus Dynamics taking a majority stake of 60% and LKL the remaining 40%.
BURSA MALAYSIA –
The Group registered a PAT of RM9.12 million as compared to RM4.11 million in the preceding quarter due to higher volume of sales of wines for the F&B segment and fair value gain on quoted investment.
The Edge –
Focus Dynamics Group Bhd has proposed to split each of its shares into three shares in a move to improve the trading liquidity of the shares. The share split will take place based on an entitlement date to be determined later, and is expected to be completed by the first quarter of this year. Focus Dynamics said as at Dec 29, 2020, the group’s issued share capital stood at RM203.79 million, comprising 6.15 billion shares.
The Star –
Fintec Global Bhd has received applications for 1.79 billion rights shares, surpassing the 1.43 billion units available for subscription under its corporate exercise. In an announcement to Bursa Malaysia on Friday, it said this represented an over-subscription rate of 24.99%. Fintec will raise about RM114mil from this corporate exercise, where about RM65mil will be used to construct a factory in Chemor, Perak for its glove business venture. Fintec also holds strategic stakes in several public listed companies including Vsolar Group Bhd and Focus Dynamics Bhd.
BURSA MALAYSIA –
The Group registered an increase in revenue to RM11.44 million from RM9.28 million in the preceding quarter, representing an increase of 23.32% or RM2.16 million. The increase in revenue was mainly due to higher contribution from the F&B segment on the online sales and sales of own imported wine from April 2020 to June 2020.

The Group’s revenue decreased marginally from RM9.95 million in corresponding quarter of last year to RM9.28 million in the current quarter, representing a decrease of RM0.67 million or 6.72%. This was mainly due to lower contribution from the F&B segment during the period caused by implementation of Movement Control Order.
REMUNERATION STUDY –
In Financial Year End 2019, the directors’ remuneration was 0.46 million. It was low compared to average in listed companies, considering the employees’ remuneration of 6.9 million and auditor’s remuneration of 231 thousands
BURSA MALAYSIA –
For the current quarter, the Group registered a revenue to RM10.0 million from RM9.87 million in the preceding quarter, representing an increase of 1.29% or RM0.13 million. The increase in revenue was mainly due to higher seasonal sales recorded by the F&B segment. The Group registered a net loss of RM2.89 million as compared to net loss of RM1.97 million in the previous quarter due to interest of RUA of RM5.9 million and depreciation of RUA of RM1.2 million.
