BURSA MALAYSIA –
Epicon’s construction business contributed RM20.16 million in pre-tax profit in FYE 2023. This marked a jump of almost 42.0% over the previous year’s results. The higher PBT from construction business was mainly due to the higher work progress of the various projects undertaken. The Group also registered a one-off gain from the debt waiver and disposal of our express bus business to Park May Group. The Group maintains a positive outlook for the affordable housing sector on the back of strong support from the Government, including the continuation of the Rumah Mesra Rakyat Programme unveiled in Budget 2024. The Group is preparing to commence construction of several projects already in the pipeline. Besides ongoing projects, the Group will keep pursuing more construction contracts, bolstering its team and expanding the range of construction services offered to grow its order book and ensure sustainable pipeline growth.
BURSA MALAYSIA –
KTB Group recorded Loss Before Tax (“LBT”) of RM7.73 million for the FYE2022 as compared to LBT of RM9.99 million in the preceding financial year. The LBT is mainly due to the loss on disposal of buses of RM10.81 million recorded in FYE 2022. The Group will look into expanding the orderbook for landed development projects in Malaysia and venture into the industrial building construction segment. In a bid to enhance our revenue and increase the profile of the Group in the construction industry, we will focus on the affordable segment of residential housing and industrial properties. For transportation division, National Transformation Plan (“NTP”) 2019-2030 aimed at strengthening public transport infrastructure is expected to spur demand for stage buses especially in areas where there is limited access to other forms of public transportation. To leverage this potential, KTB will focus on improving productivity levels of our operations to maximise kilometres serviced, reduce penalties imposed as well as manage overall cost of operations.
BURSA MALAYSIA –

The construction division revenue and profit have increased in the current quarter mainly due to the higher completion progress of projects in the quarter. SDespite higher revenue generated from the public transportation services division due to more public holidays and increase in ridership in the current quarter, the loss before tax has also increased as a result of higher operating costs being incurred by the division.
