BURSA MALAYSIA –
For financial year ended 30 June 2024, the Group registered a revenue of RM7.61 billion and pre-tax profit of RM192.52 million as compared to a revenue of RM7.27 billion and pre-tax profit of RM394.01 million reported in the previous financial year. The lower pre-tax profit mainly due to higher operating expenses incurred by the Group in line with the increase in the volume of business activities and also from inflationary pressures, lower profit contribution mainly attributed to higher depreciation incurred following completion and full operation of the Hatfield Centre, higher finance costs arising from higher amount of borrowings and interest rates and the share of losses from associated companies. Moving forward, Malaysia’s economic growth is expected to be driven by strong domestic demand and the moderation of average inflation rate despite the uncertainties arising from geo-political tensionsThe Group will monitor the prevailing global and local political development in the countries where the Group has business operations.
BURSA MALAYSIA –
The Group reported a turnaround pre-tax profit of RM394.0 million in the current financial year, compared to a pre-tax loss of RM100.30 million in the previous year. The improved performance of the Group”s business segments was mainly attributed to the full resumption of business operations following the reclassification of COVID-19 to an endemic phase. the Group remains confident in the performance of its business segments, expecting improvements due to strong domestic spending, rebounding tourism activities, and favourable labour market conditions. The Group will closely monitor economic and political conditions in the countries where it operates.
BURSA MALAYSIA –
Despite the lower Group revenue reported in the current quarter, the Group reported a turnaround to pre-tax profit of RM96.36 million mainly due to higher profit contribution from both the hotel and resorts business segment and STM Lottery in tandem with their higher revenue as well as the lower prize payout reported by STM Lottery. In addition, the Group recorded a partial impairment loss on balance sale proceeds of Great Mall Project amounting to RM197.8 million in the preceding quarter ended 30 June 2022.
BURSA MALAYSIA –
the Group reported a revenue of RM1.43 billion and pre-tax profit of RM34.75 million as compared to a revenue of RM963.04 million and pre-tax loss of RM76.35 million in the preceding quarter ended 30 September 2021. The Group reported a pre-tax profit in the current quarter under review as compared to preceding quarter mainly
due to higher profit contribution from STM Lottery resulting from its higher revenue. The profit contribution from the other business segments were in line with the revenue reported
BURSA MALAYSIA –
The Group reported a revenue of RM963.04 million and pre-tax loss of RM76.35 million as compared to a revenue of RM1.24 billion and pre-tax loss of RM74.16 million in the preceding quarter ended 30 June 2021. The Group reported a marginal increase of 3% in pre-tax loss despite mainly due to higher profit contribution from H.R. Owen mainly due to higher sales generated from new and used car sectors upon the lifting of UK lockdown restrictions in July 2021 coupled with higher support fee income received from franchises in the current quarter under review
BURSA MALAYSIA –
The Group reported a pre-tax loss due to the lower revenue achieved coupled with the higher prize payout reported by Sports Toto. The Group’s pre-tax loss was mitigated by the favourable share of results from its associates namely BKDS, resulting from the sale of several Four Seasons Residences units.
BURSA MALAYSIA –
The Group reported a revenue of RM1.46 billion and pre-tax profit of RM23.0 million. In the preceding quarter ended 30 June 2020, the Group’s businesses were temporarily closed for various periods of time due to the COVID-19 pandemic lockdowns in the countries where the Group operates. STMSB was only able to conduct 6 draws in the preceding quarter. The Group’s business segments have resumed operations in the current quarter and this led to the higher revenue reported by the Group
BURSA MALAYSIA –
The Group reported a revenue of RM541.58 million and pre-tax loss of RM144.62 million as compared to revenue of RM1.53 billion and pre-tax profit of RM11.19 million in the preceding quarter ended 31 March 2020. The financial performance of the Group in the current quarter under review was affected by the longer period of business closures as compared to the preceding quarter.
BURSA MALAYSIA –
The Group reported a revenue of RM1.52 billion and pre-tax profit of RM232.68 million as compared to revenue of RM1.53 billion and pre-tax profit of RM11.19 million in the preceding quarter ended 31 December 2019. The lower Group revenue was mainly due to lower revenue registered by Sports Toto arising from the cancellation of 6 draws during the MCO period in March 2020, lower revenue from the hotels and resorts business segments from cancellation of room and events bookings resulting from concerns on Covid-19 pandemic and lower revenue from the property investment business segments mainly due to the 14-day rental relief granted to tenants
BURSA MALAYSIA –
The Group reported a revenue of RM1.53 billion and pre-tax profit of RM11.19 million for current quarter as compared to revenue of RM1.58 billion and pre-tax profit of RM81.52 million in the preceding quarter ended 30 September 2019. The lower pre-tax profit was mainly due to the correspondingly lower profit contribution from H.R. Owen Ltd and the hotels and resorts business segments from lower revenue achieved and the higher operating expenses incurred.
