BURSA MALAYSIA –
The Group’s pre-tax profit for the financial year under review amounted to RM260.84 million, compared to RM230.57 million in the previous financial year. This increase in profit was primarily driven by the services and property segments, as well as improved performance in the hospitality segment. Despite the fluctuations and uncertainties, the Group maintains a firm belief in its ability to adjust to the evolving landscape, identify opportunities within the competitive retail sector, introduce innovations, and develop new products and processes
BURSA MALAYSIA –
Despite the lower profit from operations, the Group reported a pre-tax profit of RM107.59 million as opposed to a pre-tax loss of RM16.72 million. The pre-tax loss in the previous quarter was mainly due to partial impairment loss on balance sale proceeds of Great Mall Project amounting to RM197.8 million.
BURSA MALAYSIA –
The Group achieved a group revenue of RM8.2 billion for the current financial year under review, which was a 9% improvement over previous financial year’s revenue of RM7.5 billion. With the improvement in revenue and also other investment related gains, the Group achieved a pre-tax profit of RM230.6 million for the current financial year under review, a turnaround from previous financial year’s pre-tax loss of RM260.4 million. The Group is confident that it will be able to adapt to the changing landscape, explore niches in the crowded retail space and introduce innovations in products and processes
BURSA MALAYSIA –
The Group recorded a revenue of RM2.42 billion and pre-tax profit of RM93.44 million as compared to a revenue of RM2.06 billion and pre-tax profit of RM231.66 million reported in the preceding quarter. The lower pre-tax profit reported in the current quarter was mainly due to hospitality segment and food retail business. In the preceding quarter, the Group also recorded a significant gain on disposal of an associated company
BURSA MALAYSIA –
The Group recorded a revenue of RM2.06 billion and pre-tax profit of RM231.66 million as compared to a revenue of RM1.39 billion and pre-tax loss of RM83.17 million reported in the preceding quarter. The pre-tax profit reported in the current quarter was mainly due to higher pre-tax profit reported by all the segments except for the non-food retail business, as well as higher investment related income, which included the significant gain on disposal of an associated company
BURSA MALAYSIA –
The Group recorded a revenue of RM1.39 billion and pre-tax loss of RM83.17 million as compared to a revenue of RM1.75 billion and pre-tax loss of RM208.1 million reported in the preceding quarter.The lower pre-tax loss in the current quarter was mainly due to lower losses reported by the hotel and resorts segments as well as share of better results from associates. The pre-tax loss reported in the preceding quarter included about RM127.52 million of non-cash impairment of certain tangible and intangible assets.

The Group recorded a revenue of RM1.75 billion and pre-tax loss of RM208.10 million as compared to a revenue of RM1.82 billion and pre-tax loss of RM28.16 million reported in the preceding quarter. The higher pre-tax loss in the current quarter was primarily due to the non-cash impairments and net fair value loss on investment properties

The Group recorded a revenue of RM1.75 billion and pre-tax loss of RM208.10 million as compared to a revenue of RM1.82 billion and pre-tax loss of RM28.16 million reported in the preceding quarter. Shares in Berjaya Corp Bhd (BCorp) more than doubled in two weeks to its five-year high of 43 sen today as speculation on its boss Vincent Tan’s revamp plan continues. It was reported that Tan had decided to take a backseat in the running of the company, and is turning towards hiring professional managers to helm the group. This was followed by the appointment of a non-family member, CEO Abdul Jalil Abdul Rashid.

Shares in Berjaya Corp Bhd jumped over 16% in early trading Wednesday as investors reacted positively to the appointment of its new CEO. The conglomerate jumped 16.67%, or three sen to 21 sen, its highest since August 2020, with 118.93 million shares done. BJCorp has appointed Abdul Jalil Abdul Rasheed, the former boss at Permodalan Nasional Bhd, as its new chief executive officer.

In Financial Year End 1.7.2019 – 30.6.2020, the directors’ remuneration was 68.65 million. It was fair compared to average in listed companies, considering the employees’ remuneration of 871.1 million and auditor’s remuneration of 7415 thousands
BURSA MALAYSIA –
The Group reported a revenue of RM859.02 million and pre-tax loss of RM380.80 million for the current quarter as compared to a revenue of RM1.98 billion and pre-tax profit of RM538.08 million reported in the preceding quarter ended 31 March 2020. The financial performance of the Group was affected by the longer period of business closures of almost 2 months.
BURSA MALAYSIA –
The Group recorded a revenue of RM1.98 billion and pre-tax profit of RM538.08 million as compared to a revenue of RM2.08 billion and pre-tax loss of RM61.66 million reported in the preceding quarter. Since January 2020, the Covid-19 pandemic had severely affected the tourism industry, resulting in the drastic
reduction in the influx of tourists to Malaysia and Singapore. The various preventive measures of global population lockdown to curb the outbreak and border closures as well as travel restrictions have reduced travellers significantly causing a significant reduction in revenue for the hotels and resorts business segment and the restaurants and cafes business segment. The fear of crowded places also affected the retail sales. The gaming segment also cancelled 6 draws during the MCO in the last 2 weeks of the current quarter.
BURSA MALAYSIA –
For the current quarter ended 31 December 2019, the Group recorded a revenue of RM2.08 billion and pre-tax loss of RM61.66 million as compared to a revenue of RM2.07 billion and pre-tax profit of RM45.62 million in preceding quarter. The pre-tax loss was mainly contributed by operating expenses incurred by the overseas and local property projects, further impairment on the balance of GMOC sales proceeds in anticipation of the delay in the recovery proceedings and also impairment of certain property, plant and equipment.

In Financial Year End 1.5.2018 – 30.6.2019, the directors’ remuneration was 68.12 million. It was fair compared to average in listed companies, considering the employees’ remuneration of 987.5 million and auditor’s remuneration of 7153 thousands
