BURSA MALAYSIA –
The Group registered a loss after tax of RM19.9 million for the financial year ended 31 December 2022. This was mainly attributable to higher allowances for expected credit loss and increased finance cost. Moving ahead, the Group is focused on fulfilling our commitments through the timely completion of projects that contribute to national defence and security. On this note, we are humbled by the trust placed in us by the Government for the resumption of the
LCS project and look forward to driving this to fruition while ensuring all terms are met for delivery to the RMN.
Alongside this, The group will continue to seek out new contracts while exploring viable opportunities to further strengthen our prospects, particularly in the commercial segment.
BURSA MALAYSIA –
Results from operations in Q4 2022 showed a RM18.9 million loss compared to RM5.8 million profit in Q3 2022, due to allowance for expected credit loss of RM32.2 million (Q3 2022: RM Nil) and rightsizing costs of RM3.4 million (Q3 2022: RM Nil). Gain from disposal of KKIP land of RM6.8 million, on the other hand, cushioned the impact. The loss before taxation was further impacted by the higher weighted average interest rate of 5.49% (Q3
2022: 5.44%).
BURSA MALAYSIA –
The Group registered higher revenue of RM35.9 million in the current quarter against RM29.9 million in the preceding quarter, predominantly due to variations in milestones achieved for submarine contracts. For Q3 2022, the Group recorded a profit after taxation of RM564,000 as compared to a loss after taxation of RM517,000 in Q2 2022.
BURSA MALAYSIA –
The Group recorded a net loss of RM8.2 million in Q4 2021 as compared to Q3 2021’s profit of RM11.8 million mainly due to allowances for expected credit loss of RM12.0 million in the current quarter as compared to a reversal of expected credit loss of RM2.4 million arising from joint venture companies of RM0.7 million and reversal of GST refund of RM1.7 million in the preceding quarter.
BURSA MALAYSIA –
The Group registered a higher revenue of RM47.2 million in the current quarter against RM18.9 million in the preceding quarter, mainly due to variations in milestones achieved for the submarine contracts and other defence-related MRO projects.
BURSA MALAYSIA –
The Group registered a lower revenue of RM32.4 million in the current quarter against RM37.7 million in the preceding quarter. Variance between Q4 2020 and Q3 2020 was mainly due to expected credit loss on amount due from associate of RM18.5 million (Q3 2020: nil) and reversal on deferred tax assets of RM15.3 million in Q4 2020 (Q3 2020: nil), asset held for sale written down of RM2.1 million and LD for BHICAS of RM27.3 million.
BURSA MALAYSIA –
The Group posted a net profit of RM4.1 million for the current quarter as compared with RM567,000 loss in the preceding quarter. The variance between the current quarter revenue of RM37.7 million and preceding quarter revenue of RM35.9 million was mainly due to variations in milestones achieved for defence-related Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul projects.
BURSA MALAYSIA –
The Group posted a net loss of RM567,000 for the current quarter as compared with RM20.4 million profit in the preceding quarter. The variance between the current quarter revenue of RM35.9 million and preceding quarter revenue of RM44.0 million was due to variations in milestones achieved for defence-related MRO projects. Higher expenses in Q2 2020 was mainly due to additional staff costs of RM5.7 million incurred under retrenchment arising from the closure of non-profitable business operations.
REMUNERATION STUDY –
In Financial Year End 2019, the directors’ remuneration was 1.03 million. It was low compared to average in listed companies, considering the employees’ remuneration of 87.9 million and auditor’s remuneration of 417 thousands
BURSA MALAYSIA –
The Group posted a net loss of RM118.6 million for the current quarter as compared with RM3.3 million profit in the preceding quarter. The variance between the current quarter revenue of RM42.3 million and preceding quarter revenue of RM36.4 million was due to variations in milestones achieved for defence-related MRO projects.
INVESTING MALAYSIA –
BHIC (17 DEC 19) Boustead Heavy Industries Corp Bhd (BHIC), Destini Bhd, Muhibbah Engineering (M) Bhd and TH Heavy Engineering Bhd (THHE) are eyeing a RM220 million contract to build 18 fast interceptor craft (FIC) for the Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN) as it is likely to be the only big-ticket item that will be awarded for the armed forces over the next few months.
