BURSA MALAYSIA –
In FY2024, The Group registered revenues of RM2.02 billion or a 5.2% increase YOY, driven by 4.1% growth in net interest income. While net profit after tax improved by 1.9% YOY to RM690.5 million. Accordingly, our net interest margin was at 2.48%. Client-based fee income (excluding brokerage income) grew by RM60 million, driven by higher wealth management, foreign exchange sales and trade fees. Going Forward, The Group expects to continue its strong financial performance going into FY2025 and remains on track in fulfilling its growth ambitions under Acceler8 to drive higher performance and broad-based growth. With prudent loans growth above the industry average, robust credit risk management, strong deposit/CASA propositions and increased investments in technology, the Group aims to continue its market share expansion in FY2025.
BURSA MALAYSIA –
The Bank registered a revenue of RM1.92 billion, a 2.8% increase year-on-year, driven by an 11.6% growth in net interest income. Accordingly, our net interest margin improved 11 basis points) to 2.64% since March 2022. Client-based fee income (excluding brokerage income) grew to RM284.1 million, driven by higher wealth management, foreign exchange sales and trade fees. All in all, FY2024 is expected to be another uneven year with central banks across the globe still finding their footing in terms of how to manage interest rates to normalise cost pressures
BURSA MALAYSIA –
In comparison with the immediate preceding quarter, the Group’s profit after taxation of RM212.2 million for the quarter was higher by RM109.1 million. This was mainly due to higher net interest income, lower operating expenses and credit cost.
BURSA MALAYSIA –
The Group’s profit after taxation of RM103.0 million for the quarter was lower by RM48.0 million or 31.8%, mainly due to lower revenue, higher operating expenses and credit cost.
The Edge –
July-September quarter earnings of the 10 public-listed banking groups were a mixed bag. Of the 10 banks, Alliance Bank Malaysia Bhd turned in better-than-expected earnings relative to analysts’ consensus estimates. This was mainly on the back of higher-than-expected investment gains, cost controls and, for some, a quicker pace of recovery in net interest margin (NIM).
The Edge –
Financial services counters Hong Leong Financial Group Bhd (HLFG) and Public Bank Bhd were among the top gainers on the local bourse in the mid-morning today. Other banks such as Affin Bank Bhd, Alliance Bank Malaysia Bhd and RHB Bank Bhd also saw gains. Affin was up by 3.15% or five sen at RM1.64 and Alliance Bank was 0.76% or two sen higher at RM2.66, while RHB stood at RM5.36, rising by 0.38% or two sen.
The Edge –
According to data compiled from Bloomberg, among the Top 100 largest companies by market capitalisation on Bursa Malaysia, 31 of them are already trading above investment analysts’ consensus average target price including six banks. The six banks include Alliance Bank Malaysia Bhd, which is 28.1% higher against the average consensus target price.
BURSA MALAYSIA –
As compared to the immediate preceding quarter, the Group’s profit after taxation of RM104.3 million for the quarter was 6.4% or RM6.3 million higher mainly due to lower operating expense and credit losses.
REMUNERATION STUDY –
In Financial Year End 2020, the directors’ remuneration was 12.58 million. It was slightly low compared to average in listed companies, considering the employees’ remuneration of 516.1 million and auditor’s remuneration of 1763 thousands
BURSA MALAYSIA –
As compared to the immediate preceding quarter, the Group’s profit after taxation of RM98.1 million for the quarter was 26.8% or RM35.9 million lower mainly due to review of credit models and the early effect of the Covid-19 pandemic.
