    TIME DotCom Bhd has acquired a 60% stake in Malaysia’s leading private cloud computing provider AVM Cloud Sdn Bhd for RM58.7 million. TIME said the acquisition marks the group’s efforts in accelerating the growth of cloud computing as the newest pillar of its business, alongside fixed line services, global network connectivity and data centres. With the inclusion of AVM in the TIME family, the group now possesses a full spectrum of product offerings that can meet the needs of its enterprise customers across the region.

    The Group reported a consolidated revenue of RM304.8 million in Q2 2020, which is RM10.9 million or 3.7% higher than in Q1 2020. The growth in consolidated revenue (excluding one-off revenues from non-recurring contracts) is mainly attributable to the increase in data and data centre sales, which grew 4.1% and 1.2% quarter-on-quarter respectively. All core customer groups also continued to show growth in recurring revenue led by wholesale and retail customer groups.

    The Group reported a revenue of RM293.9 million and PBT of RM125.6 million in Q1 2020 compared to revenue of RM295.3 million and PBT of RM79.9 million in Q4 2019. The lower revenue was due to the decline in voice revenues and data centre. The higher PBT is due to an allowance for doubtful debts made for all remaining advances given to Kirz Co. Ltd; a provision for financial guarantee for guarantees provided to secure banking facilities for KIRZ; higher net gain on foreign exchange; lower provision for doubtful debts; lower interest expenses; higher dividend income; lower write off of property, plant and equipment; higher share of profit from associates.
