    The Group reported a PBT of RM39.0 million, which included the accounting treatment for the Employees’ Share Option Scheme (“ESOS”) of RM9.4 million, versus RM30.7 million in FY2021. This translated to a YoY improvement of 27.2% YoY driven by the Food and Restaurant Divisions. Going Forward, For Industrial Division, the group continue in their journey to transform into a specialty chemicals distribution player by enlarging their specialty product portfolio to expand into higher margin product segments. Meanwhile for the Group’s Food Division, the demand from customers has been affected by the weaker consumer sentiment due to the global economic uncertainties. In view of this, the group are penetrating new markets to mitigate the slowdown. The group launched new products under the Seapack brand in FY2022 such as prawn tail, breaded scallop and Takoyaki. Looking ahead, the group will continue to focus on expanding their market presence, new products and new countries.

    The Group achieved a revenue of RM251.8 million in the current quarter, representing a decrease of 10.91% compared to the preceding quarter. The Group’s pre-tax profit was 81.37% lower at RM1.7 million in the current quarter mainly due to loss incurred by the Food Division and lower contribution from the Polymer Engineering Division. The Food Division’s performance was affected by weaker consumer demand, higher raw materials prices and higher operating costs while Polymer Engineering Division’s performance was mainly affected by the slowdown in global market demand in the hard disk drive sector.

    performance was affected by weaker consumer demand from the textile, construction and latex glove
    industries.
