The PBT in the current quarter decreased by RM5.3 million to RM2.4 million from RM7.7 million in the preceding quarter substantially due to a drop in PBT of RM5.1 million from the Oil Bunkering and Shipping Related Services segment, as it had competitively priced its cargo to garner a larger market share. There is also a share of associates losses of RM1.7 million in current quarter mainly due to incurrence of listing expenses. However, the decline in PBT has been mitigated by the improved performance of its Port Operation & Management and STS Operation segments by RM1.3 million and RM1.8 million respectively.

The PBT in the current quarter increased by RM6.1 million to RM7.7 million from RM1.6 million in the preceding quarter substantially due to a higher contribution of RM5.2 million from the Oil Bunkering and Shipping Related Services segment and RM0.5 million from its share of associate’s profit.

The PBT in the current quarter decreased by RM1.6 million to RM1.6 million from RM3.2 million in the preceding quarter, as the PBT of the oil and bunkering services segment decreased by RM0.7 million and the associate dropped by RM0.7 million on the back of significant increase in fuel cost price during the current quarter under review, while the telecommunication & networking segment had incurred an initial start-up cost of RM0.2 million.

The increase in PBT in the current quarter by RM0.4 million to RM1.9 million compared to the preceding quarter was due to pre-operational costs amounting to RM1.4 million incurred by the STS operation that eroded the profits generated by the oil trading and bunkering services, vessel management and port management segments in the preceding quarter.

The increase in PBT in the current quarter by RM0.5 million to RM2.9 million compared to the preceding quarter was mainly contributed by improved performance of the oil trading & bunkering services segment by RM1.2 million. Port management segment contributed to an increase of RM0.5 million compared to preceding quarter due to higher revenue generated in the current quarter. However, these improvements were reduced by corporate exercise expenses of RM0.4 million related to the Private Placement and an acquisition of additional 15% in TMD and share of losses from its associate company that charged out USD0.8 million (equivalent to RM3.3 million) in listing expenses in the current quarter.

The increase in PBT in the current quarter by RM1.1 million to RM2.4 million compared to the preceding quarter was mainly contributed by improved performance of the oil trading & bunkering services and port management segments by RM2.6 million and RM0.9 million respectively, sustained by the economic recovery from the COVID19 Pandemic. However, these improvements were reduced by lower profit contribution of RM0.8 million from its associate company, continuing losses of RM1.3 million by the inland transportation & logistics segment and year end provision for RM0.2 million in its annual corporate expenditure.

PBT for the Group reflected an increase of RM0.2 million in the current quarter compared to the preceding quarter results due to macroeconomic recovery. It was mainly attributable to the resumption of economic activities following the relaxation of Movement Control Order

    BURSA MALAYSIA

The drop in revenue for the current quarter by RM187.1 million to RM75.2 million, from RM262.3 million achieved in the preceding quarter was mainly due to the drastic global economy slowdown caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. The travelling restrictions imposed worldwide has substantially affected the movement of ships globally and also in this region thus causing the demand for oil bunkering to drop significantly. In addition, the imposition of MCO has also affected the delivery order for transportation and construction materials impacting the inland transportation & logistics segment.

    BURSA MALAYSIA

The increase in revenue for the current quarter by RM58.9 million or 28.9% to RM262.4 million, from RM203.5 million achieved in the preceding quarter was attributable to higher bunkering jobs secured for the supply of LSFO to container vessels in conjunction with the implementation of low sulphur cap regulation. In addition, the commencement of bunkering services by the newly acquired vessel, M.T. SMF Ixora has further increased the delivery tonnage of cargo. However, PBT for the Group reflected a decrease of RM1.9 million in the current quarter compared to the preceding quarter due to the deterioration of the selling price of the fuel oil as a result of COVID 19 pandemic.
