Profit before tax decreased to RM9.11 million from RM21.46 million compared to last year. Production of FFB was lower than the previous year by 6,947 metric tonnes. The average FFB price realised decreased by RM296 per metric tonne from RM1,081 per metric tonne in 2022 to RM785 per metric tonne in 2023. The CPO prices have returned to more sustainable levels and are expected to remain robust and, barring any unforeseen circumstances this trend is expected to extend throughout 2024. The Group replanting policy had slowed down during the Covid pandemic due to a lack of workers, and 2023 saw a significant acceleration of the replanting policy. This trend will continue into 2024, which will affect future tonnage until the immature palms start producing fruit which is typically in year three after replanting.

Group profit before tax for the financial year ended 31 December 2022 decreased to RM21.46 million from RM32.21 million compared to last year due to lower revenue. Rather than cut back on fertiliser and risk the drop in production, the Group continued with the policy of optimising the distribution of fertiliser. The group have built and will continue to build a solid foundation over the years to ensure the sustainability of the oil palms’ production potential.
