BURSA MALAYSIA –
On the back of stronger revenue recognition and continued cost rationalisation strategies, Matrix posted improved earnings in FY2023, year-on-year. Group profit before tax stood at RM260.7 million, 2.9% lower, year-on-year, while profit after tax was RM202.8 million, 1.0% higher, year-on-year. In FY2024, Matrix plans to further refine its product launch mix to market demand. In Malaysia, the Group plans to launch RM1.73 billion of new properties into the market, with the bulk being mid-ranged homes. Most of these launches will centre around the Group’s flagship Sendayan Developments and BSI, with some launches of stand-alone, projects located in the Greater Klang Valley.
BURSA MALAYSIA –
Despite the lower revenue, gross profit improved to RM113.6 million, an increase of 3.9% from RM109.3 million in the preceding quarter due to favourable mix of products recognised, which has also resulted in gross margin increasing to 51.1% from 47.7% in the preceding quarter. Profit after tax also during the quarter improved to RM49.7 million, 7.6% higher than the RM46.2 million reported in the preceding quarter, in line with higher gross profit and lower tax expenses.
BURSA MALAYSIA –
Profit after tax also during the quarter was at RM46.2 million, 23.9% lower than the RM60.7 million reported in the preceding quarter. Despite the significant drop in gross profit, the Group’s net margin for the quarter was 20.1% albeit lower than 24.2% in the preceding quarter. Gross profit amounted to RM109.3 million, a decrease of 33.9% from RM165.4 million in the preceding quarter due to product mix and lower contribution from industrial properties during the quarter under review.
BURSA MALAYSIA –
As the Group continues its recovery from the disruptions of Movement Control Order 3.0 (“MCO 3.0”), it recorded improvements in profitability as gross margin for the quarter stood at 58.4%, a significant increase from 47.6% reported in the preceding quarter, attributable to favourable product mix from its residential products. Similarly, net margin increased to 25.3% in the quarter under review, as the Group reported profit after tax of RM59.1 million, an increase of 17.2% compared to the preceding quarter.
BURSA MALAYSIA –
The Group’s profit before tax stood at RM42.7 million, a decrease from RM95.2 million in the preceding quarter, representing a decrease of RM52.5 million or 55.2%, while profit after tax stood at RM30.5 million, a reduction of RM42.9 million or 58.5% from RM73.4 million reported in the preceding quarter.
BURSA MALAYSIA –
The Group recorded revenue of RM388.2 million for the fourth quarter ended 31 March 2021, increasing 23.1%
from RM315.4 million in the preceding quarter ended 31 December 2020. The revenue growth was attributable
to the continued recovery of the Group’s operations following the commencement of the RMCO period from
7 June 2020. The Group’s profit before tax stood at RM95.2 million, largely unchanged from RM94.5 million in the preceding quarter

Property developer Matrix Concepts Holdings Bhd has recorded its best quarterly earnings in five years with a net profit of RM75.1mil for its second quarter ended Sept 30. This was a 27.8% jump year-on-year (y-o-y), which signalled a return to the group’s pre-movement control order (MCO) operating levels. The Seremban-based developer attributed its strong rebound to the revenue recognition of a favourable product mix and expedited construction progress. It said in a statement that it also benefited from optimistic sales and marketing costs in line with the adoption of digital marketing efforts.
BURSA MALAYSIA –
The Group recorded revenue of RM262.0 million for the second quarter ended 30 September 2020, increasing 61.7% from RM162.0 million in the preceding quarter ended 30 June 2020. The revenue growth was attributable to the recovery of the Group’s operations during the RMCO after the upliftment of the MCO and CMCO, as construction schedule gradually return to normalcy, while sales and marketing activities shifted its focus towards greater online presence and engagement.
REMUNERATION STUDY –
In Financial Year End 2020, the directors’ remuneration was 29.37 million. It was very high compared to average in listed companies, considering the employees’ remuneration of 61.1 million and auditor’s remuneration of 611 thousands
BURSA MALAYSIA –
The Group recorded revenue of RM162.0 million for the first quarter ended 30 June 2020, a decrease of RM310.1 million or 65.7% from the preceding quarter ended 31 March 2020. While the preceding quarter was marginally affected by the MCO, business operations during the current financial quarter was affected since the beginning of the quarter until early of June 2020, where the Group’s business operations only managed to return to full capacity.
BURSA MALAYSIA –
The Group’s profit before tax stood at RM95.2 million compared to RM91.4 million in the preceding quarter, an increase of RM3.9 million or 4.2%. The weaker profit margins was mainly due to the product mix comprising mainly residential properties, as compared to the preceding quarter which consisted of a higher portion of commercial and industrial properties.
BURSA MALAYSIA –
The Group recorded revenue of RM279.0 million for current quarter, a decrease of RM3.8 million from the preceding quarter ended 30 September 2019. The decline was due to lower revenue recognition from the Group’s residential properties, which was offset by the increased revenue recognition from its commercial and industrial properties. The Group’s profit before tax stood at RM91.4 million compared to RM79.5 million in the preceding quarter, attributed to higher sales of industrial properties.
