    Kanger International Bhd will receive 10,000 doses of a Covid-19 vaccine developed by state-owned China National Pharmaceutical Group Corp (Sinopharm) for trial purposes. In a bourse filing today, the group said the 10,000 doses of the vaccine will be for trial purposes and that it will be getting the necessary approvals from the relevant authorities. The first batch of vaccines is expected to arrive in May 2021

    Kanger Holdongs Bhd has bagged a contract to build two blocks of serviced apartments totalling RM478 million in Genting Highlands. Its subsidiary Kanger Ventures Sdn Bhd, which has entered into a collaboration agreement with Vegetta Champion Sdn Bhd, will be responsible for the entire project management, financial and entire administration of this development. The project is expected to commence in June 2021 and will take approximately 48 months to be completed.

    Over at ACE Market-listed Kanger International Bhd, its managing director-cum-deputy chairman Leng Xingmin is no longer a substantial shareholder of the China-based bamboo floor manufacturer after he sold 25 million shares, or a 1.11% stake, on the open market on Jan 15 at 14 sen per share for a total of RM3.5 million. Post-disposal, Leng is left with a 4.01% stake. Leng, a Chinese national, has been paring down his holding in the company over the years. In April 2014, he owned as much as 55.17% of the company.

    Stocks to watch on Monday include Kanger International Bhd, according to JF Apex Research. Kanger International has diversified into the construction business by signing six deals totalling RM495.9mil. It involves the group undertaking the remaining works at six construction sites in Kuala Lumpur and Pahang, the group said.

    Kanger International Bhd has received support from the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation to purchase Covid-19 vaccines for private-sector use in Malaysia. The ministry’s agency National Institutes of Biotechnology Malaysia (NIBM) had no objection for the company to cooperate with China National Pharmaceutical Group Corp (Sinopharm) on the purchase of the vaccines.
