    The Group incurred a loss before tax of RM7.5 million in FY2022, primarily due to a write-down of RM13.6 million in inventories, compared to a profit before tax of RM1.9 million in FY2021. Going Forward, The group efforts to diversify our income streams have also seen good progress with securing the silica mining projects, and the group will continue to ride on that momentum.The group expect to continue exploring synergies further in silica sand mining as they build their name and presence in this industry.

    The Group registered 9.2% higher revenue of RM29.6 million in Q3-2022 largely due to higher contributions from the property development segment.     The Group reported a loss before tax of RM7.2 million in Q2-2022, compared to a profit before tax of RM9.2 milliion in Q1-2022. The decrease in profit before tax of RM16.4 million in Q2-2022 was mainly due to a lower revenue contribution and led to a reduction of gross profit by RM9.8 million. The second factor was due to the loss on foreign exchange of RM1.8 million as compared to the gain on foreign exchange of RM2.1 million. This resulted in a reduction in profit before tax of RM3.9 million.

    The Group recorded a loss before tax in Q1-2021 of RM1.5 million compared to a profit before tax of RM61.3 million in Q4-2020, a decrease of RM62.8 million. Decrease in profit before tax for the quarter is mainly due to the reversal of accretion of interest and interest charges on Bukit Katil Land occurred in the Q4-2020 as a result of the settlement agreement entered between EBKSB and FELDA. In Q4-2020, the Group has recorded the reversal of accretion interest and interest charges totalling of RM55.9 million and reversal of fair value loss of investment properties of RM4.0 million.

The Group’s rental rebates have been granted to existing tenants and resulted in lower revenue for property segment in 2Q20. Loss before tax in 1Q20 of RM15.4 million has decreased by RM6.4 million to RM9.0 million in 2Q20. The main reason is due to unrealised foreign exchange gain of RM3.2 million in 2Q2020 as compared to unrealised foreign exchange loss of RM2.1 million in 1Q2020.
