The Group registered a higher profit after tax of RM141.38 million for the FY2023, an increase of 150.99% as compared to RM56.33 million in FY2022. It is resulted mostly from the increased in sales of chicks, feeds, processed chicken, and further processed food products. The Group will continue to take effort to improve efficiency in the various stages of the value chain in its integration to enhance productivity and reduce cost of production. Moving forward, the Group will continue focus in the use of automation and new technology into its operations where appropriate and reduce the dependency on

    BURSA MALAYSIA

Excluding the gain or loss on fair value adjustment of biological assets and the subsidies on chicken received from the government, the group recorded an increase of 77.78% in profit before tax. The shortage of chicken in the market has pushed up the selling price of chicken based products. Increased in selling price of most of the further processed products of the Group and the high selling price of broiler has resulted in the increase in the profit of the Group.

  3. BURSA MALAYSIA

    BURSA MALAYSIA

The Group achieved a lower revenue and profit before taxation as compared to previous quarter, mainly due to the lower production of chicks and lower trading volume of feeds as well as the lower average selling price of broilers as a result of government’s move to impost price controls on broilers. The higher feed cost coupled with the lower selling price of broilers which prevailed during the quarter under reviewed has resulted in the margin of the Group being eroded.

  4. BURSA MALAYSIA

    BURSA MALAYSIA

The Group achieved a higher revenue and profit before taxation by 304% as compared to previous quarter, mainly due to the higher average selling price of broilers as a result of supply shortage of chicken in the market. The higher feed cost coupled with the low selling price of broilers which prevailed over the past year has resulted in losses for most farms. Consequently, many farms either closed down or reduce their production of broilers. As a result of the shortage in supply, the average selling price of broiler and processed chicken has increased since October 2021.

  5. BURSA MALAYSIA

    BURSA MALAYSIA

Despite that the selling price of broilers increased from RM4.18 per kg to RM4.39 per kg in the third quarter, the Group’s revenue dropped to RM357.77 million as compared to RM409.65 million in the second quarter. This was mainly due to the decreased in production of broilers by 14.3% as well as the decreased in the trading volume of feed by 12.1% during the quarter under reviewed

  6. BURSA MALAYSIA

    BURSA MALAYSIA

Despite that the selling price of broilers has increased from RM3.85 per kg to RM4.18 per kg in the second quarter, the revenue dropped to RM409.65 million as compared to RM448.20 million in the first quarter. This was mainly due to the decreased in production of chicks and broilers by 15.4% and 13.6% respectively during the quarter. In view of the interruption of food supply worldwide during the Covid-19 pandemic and that the total production of broilers in Malaysia has reached saturation point, the management decided to slow down its production of chicks and broilers to avoid creating an oversupply situation.
