    AFFIN Group recorded a Profit Before Tax (PBT) of RM1,376.8 million, an increase of 95.6% for the financial year ended 2022 (FY2022) compared to RM70.4 million in the previous financial year. The improvement in PBT was supported by an increase in Net Interest Income (NII) which rose by 13.6% or RM122.7 million to RM1,022.6 million compared to FY2021. Going Forward, the Group has positioned itself effectively and set the RUN23 (Revolutionise Digital, Unrivalled Customer Services, Navigating Uncertainties 2023) chapter towards achieving the A25 aspirations. Also, the Group is committed to advancing its transformation journey to become a leading financial solution provider of the future by leveraging innovative technologies and features to deliver outstanding customer service and foster new business opportunities.

    Loss before tax of the Group for the quarter under review stood at RM156.4 million, lower by RM330.6 million or 189.8% against the preceding quarter ended 30 June 2022 of RM174.2 million. This was mainly attributed by higher operating expenses of RM59.1 million, higher allowances for impairment losses of RM278.0 million and lower share of profits from joint venture and associated company.

This was due to higher net income of RM54.1 million offset by higher allowances for impairment losses, higher operating expenses and lower share of profits from joint venture of RM37.9 million, RM13.0 million and RM3.6 million respectively. The share of profits from associate however increased by RM9.3 million to RM17.6 million for the quarter under review.
