Yong Tai is among the stocks to watch on Tuesday following their corporate announcements, JF Apex Research says. Yong Tai has denied rumours in the social media that its Covid-19 vaccine application has been rejected by the Ministry of Health’s (MoH) National Pharmaceutical Regulatory Agency.

JF Apex Research expects Yong Tai to be among the stocks to watch on Tuesday following their corporate announcements. Yong Tai plans to place out new shares to raise up to RM92mill to fund the development of its Impression City and Impression U-Thant projects, as well as for working capital. The private placement involves up to 20% of its issued shares.

Yong Tai is among the stocks which could see trading interest on Monday, according to TA Securities Research. JF Apex Research said Yong Tai has entered into a heads of agreement with China-based Shenzhen Kangtai Biological Products Co Ltd (SZKT) to work together for the proposed commercialisation of the latter’s inactivated Covid-19 vaccine in Malaysia.

Shares in property and construction counters surged today in an apparent reaction to the progression of the Kuala Lumpur-Singapore High Speed Rail (HSR) project amid talks between Malaysia and Singapore leaders about the megaproject with details expected to be announced this month. Bursa Malaysia’s Property index rose as much as 2.3% to a near nine-month high of 687.01 while the Construction index surged as high as 1.48% to an almost six-month high of 179.92 this morning. Property company Yong Tai Bhd was among the most actively traded stocks on the local bourse today
REMUNERATION STUDY –
In Financial Year End 2020, the directors’ remuneration was 2.49 million. It was slightly high compared to average in listed companies, considering the employees’ remuneration of 15.8 million and auditor’s remuneration of 136 thousands
BURSA MALAYSIA –
The Group’s current quarter loss before tax was RM22.32 million as compared to RM12.02 million loss before tax reported in the preceding quarter ended 31 March 2020. The overall weaker performance in the current quarter was mainly due to imposition of MCO and CMCO which had disrupted the site construction progress and consequently affected the profit recognition.

The Group’s current quarter loss before tax is RM12.02 million as compared to RM4.96 million loss before tax reported in the preceding quarter ended 31 December 2019. The overall weaker performance in the current quarter was mainly due to lower profit contribution from the development projects and the additonal losses incurred from the theatre operation consequent to the COVID-19 outbreak.

The overall weaker performance was mainly due to lower profit contribution from the development projects and loss from the theatre operation.
