The Group registered a higher pre-tax profit of RM56.8 million as compared to a pre-tax profit of RM11.0 million in 2021, mainly due to a one-off gain from the disposal of shares held in an associated company. Moving Forward, The Group has continuously sought to overcome these through incremental improvements to the quality of customer service, development of newer and more relevant products and investment in digitalisation.

Profit before tax of RM9,101,000 was recorded compared to pre-tax profit of RM1,523,000 in the immediate preceding quarter. This was largely attributable to better underwriting results from lower net claims incurred and reduction in operating expenses.

The IT segment’s revenue from external parties decreased by RM2,604,000 to RM2,847,000 for the current quarter compared to the preceding quarter. This was mainly due to lower income from IT services. A higher pre-tax loss of RM3,987,000 was reported for the current quarter as compared to a pre-tax loss of RM1,166,000 in the preceding quarter which resulted from decrease in revenue.

The Insurance segment’s revenue decreased by RM2,099,000 to RM74,111,000 for the current quarter compared to the preceding quarter. The decrease was primarily due to lower gross earned premium. However, loss before tax was RM95,000 for the current quarter as compared to a pre-tax profit of RM17,732,000 in the preceding quarter. This was largely due to lower underwriting results principally from higher net claims incurred and absence of profit commission earned.
