BURSA MALAYSIA –
For the financial period ended 30 June 2024, The Group’s pre-tax earnings is at RM20.7 million lifted by a writeback on property, plant and equipment (PPE) as compared to Loss Before Tax of RM 13.8 million in previous financial period. Domestic steel players will likely continue to face severe competition and margin-squeeze from imports amidst muted domestic demand, high inventory, and falling steel prices. Moving forward, The Group expects thier prospect outlook for the next six months will faces significant headwind which resonates with the developments narrated above.
BURSA MALAYSIA –
The decline in steel prices since April 2022 continued into the current period impacting inventory measurement with a RM9.8 million write-down at closing. Losses for the current financial quarter widened to RM16.4 million at pre-tax level (compared with the immediate-preceding quarter’s pre-tax profit of RM2.8 million). After-tax loss of the Group narrowed to RM13.5 million compared to the immediate-preceding quarter’s after-tax profit of RM1.6 million.
BURSA MALAYSIA –
The Group’s pre-tax profit performance in Q4 would have weakened by around 30% compared to Q3, before being further dragged down by the CRC subsidiary’s inventory impairment charge of RM6.6 million – pushing its Q4 net-profit 37% lower at RM9.4 million
BURSA MALAYSIA –
The Group’s net-earning for the current 3rd financial quarter is 28% lower in tandem with 30% lower revenue attributed to lower sales volume inconjunction with the long Chinese New Year break. In general, the steel market was soft in both the 2nd and 3rd financial quarters with lower new orders as many industries grappled to restart from the prolonged pandemic lockdown amid labor shortage, supplychain interruptions, and absence of stimulus or financial aids
BURSA MALAYSIA –
The Group recorded a higher pre-tax profit of RM28.7 million for the current financial quarter compared to RM20.2 million in the preceding year’s corresponding quarter. The better pre-tax profit is attributed to higher gross profit from better margin spreads in both segments. Consequently, the Group recorded a higher after-tax profit of RM20.8 million compared to the preceding year’s corresponding quarter after-tax profit of RM14.9 million.
BURSA MALAYSIA –
The Group’s revenue at RM146.9 million for the current financial quarter is around 5% lower than the immediate-preceding quarter at RM154.3 million. The lower revenue for the current financial quarter is attributed to the longer FMCO shutdown period. As a result, the Group registered a lower pre-tax profit of RM10.3 million for the current financial quarter (compared with the immediate-preceding quarter’s pre-tax
profit of RM17.6 million)
BURSA MALAYSIA –
The Group registered a pre-tax profit of RM25.2 million compared with the immediate preceding quarter’s pretax profit of RM20.2 million. The higher pre-tax profit for the current quarter is mainly due to better gross margin spreads from both the Cold Rolled and Steel Tube segments
REMUNERATION STUDY –
In Financial Year End 2020, the directors’ remuneration was 3.1 million. It was fair compared to average in listed companies, considering the employees’ remuneration of 30.2 million and auditor’s remuneration of 356 thousands
BURSA MALAYSIA –
The Group’s revenue at RM92.2 million for the 4th quarter is around RM53.7 million lower than the preceding quarter at RM145.9 million. The lower revenue is mainly due to the longer business shutdown period of 4 weeks, which led to lower sales volume for both the Cold Rolled and Steel Tube segments. The Group registered a pre-tax loss of RM5.8 million compared with the preceding quarter’s pre-tax loss of RM2.7 million after an impairment charge on property, plant and equipment of RM2.4 million.
BURSA MALAYSIA –
The Group’s revenue at RM145.9 million for the 3Q2020 is around RM28.1 million lower than the preceding quarter at RM174.0 million. The lower revenue is mainly due to the Chinese New Year holidays coupled with two weeks of business shutdown pursuant to the MCO lockdown which led to lower sales volume for both the Cold Rolled and Steel Tube segments. The Group registered a pre-tax loss of RM2.7 million compared with the immediate preceding quarter’s pre-tax loss of RM3.1 million.
REMUNERATION STUDY –
In Financial Year End 2019, the directors’ remuneration was 2.99 million. It was fair compared to average in listed companies, considering the employees’ remuneration of 34.7 million and auditor’s remuneration of 355 thousands
