The Star –
Awang Daud, a co-founder of Serba Dinamik Holdings Bhd, had acquired a 26.98% stake in i-Stone on Aug 11 from One United Equity Sdn Bhd. The investment, Awang Daud had said previously, was part of his long-term business strategy to leverage on the technologies of Industry 4.0 such as automation and big data with new inroads to be made. The Group intends to leverage on the newly appointed chairman’s networking to venture into new industry such as oil & gas

Technology firm I-Stone Group Bhd, which reported a drop in its second quarter earnings, has appointed Datuk Awang Daud Awang Putera as its new chairman effective yesterday. He replaced Datuk Azman Mahmood, who has retired from the company. Awang Daud, a co-founder of Serba Dinamik Holdings Bhd, had acquired a 26.98% stake in i-Stone on Aug 11 from One United Equity Sdn Bhd.
BURSA MALAYSIA –
The Group recorded revenue of RM13.85 million in Q2 2020 as compared to RM15.94 million in preceding financial quarter ended 31 March 2020 (“Q1 2020”). Lower revenue derived from both manufacturing and distribution segments have contributed to the
decrease in the Group’s total revenue. The decreases were due to the impact of MCO imposed in Malaysia on 18 March 2020.
BURSA MALAYSIA –
The Group recorded revenue of RM15.94 million and PBT of RM3.06 million in Q1 2020 as compared to revenue of RM21.56 million and PBT of RM0.72 million in preceding quarter ended Q4 2019. Lower revenue derived from manufacturing segment has contributed to the decrease in the Group’s total revenue. Lower PBT was mainly due to the competitive pricing for the manufacturing segment, increase in staff cost, bonus declared and loss on foreign exchange as compared Q1 2020 with a gain on foreign exchange.
BURSA MALAYSIA –
The revenue derived from manufacturing segment had increased from RM16.35 million to RM19.33 million in preceding quarter. The Group registered a PBT of RM0.72 million in current quarter as compared to adjusted PBT of RM3.20 million in preceding quarter. The decrease of RM2.47 million was mainly due to our competitive pricing for the manufacturing segment, increase in staff cost and bonus declared of RM2.32 million.
