Revenue in current quarter amounted to RM8.35 million, fell by RM44.39 million, or 84%, as compared to RM52.74 million reported in immediate preceding quarter. Softening demand on plywood particularly at United States due to recession concern was the main factor contributed to the decrease in revenue. Sales volume reduced by 69% when only low-price products such as thick plywood, veneer and LVL sold to Asian countries in current quarter. Non-operating income was RM0.72 million, improved by RM0.28 million, or 63% quarter-over-quarter due mainly to rate hike from the Central Bank of Malaysia. The Group reported loss after tax of RM1.72 million as compared to profit of RM11.28 million recorded in immediate preceding quarter.

Sales volume up by 26% due to considerable improvement in the shipping challenges which had affected our plywood shipment earlier this year. With higher revenue reported in the third quarter, operating profit was RM14.29 million, up approximately 4% quarter-over-quarter. Profit before tax increased slightly to RM14.73 million compared to RM14.01 million in the second quarter.

The Group recorded revenue of RM32.92 million in current quarter under review, an increase of 39% as compared to previous year’s corresponding quarter. Excluding the effect of freight income, average selling price from sale of goods in current quarter soared by 55% due to robust demand for wood products, particularly from US region. In line with the improvement from selling price, the Group had reversed its loss-making position in first quarter 2021 and reported profit before tax of RM9.66 million in current quarter under review. Profit after tax of the Group stood at RM7.40 million for current quarter under review.

  4. BURSA MALAYSIA

    BURSA MALAYSIA

Profit after tax of the Group amounted to RM12.94 million, an increase of 661% as compared to RM1.70 million recorded in previous quarter. Sales volume in current quarter was higher comparatively especially when there were 12,000 m3 finished goods loaded to bulk carriers in the month of December. Better product mix and higher
product price also lead to a higher average selling price in current quarter.

  5. BURSA MALAYSIA

    BURSA MALAYSIA

The Group’s revenue in current quarter had decreased by approximately 34% as compared to revenue of RM33.10 million recorded in immediate preceding quarter. This was mainly due to lower sales volume in current quarter under review. The profit before tax and after tax of the Group had decreased by approximately 79% and 59% respectively.

  6. BURSA MALAYSIA

    BURSA MALAYSIA

The Group recorded loss before tax of RM3.02 million, an increase of 22% as compared to immediate preceding quarter due to higher administrative expenses. In contrasts, loss after tax of RM2.90 million in current quarter had reduced by approximately 15%. This was because immediate preceding quarter’s income tax had included a reversal of deferred tax assets recognised on unutilised capital allowance and business losses.

  7. BURSA MALAYSIA

    BURSA MALAYSIA

As compared to immediate preceding quarter, operating loss of the Group had decreased by 46% to RM1.98 million. This was mainly due to a more relax operating procedures during the RMCO which allowed the Group to continue running the business activities. However, non-operating income had dropped by approximately 12% comparatively as a result of the OPR cut in current year.

  8. BURSA MALAYSIA

    BURSA MALAYSIA

Revenue in current quarter under review had decreased by approximately 70% as compared to immediate preceding quarter due to the imposition of MCO until May 2020. During this period, the Group has no sales and production. On the other hand, lower non-operating income was mainly due to lower return from money market funds and rental income deduction to our tenant since March.

  9. BURSA MALAYSIA

    BURSA MALAYSIA

Revenue in current quarter under review had decreased by approximately 14% as compared to revenue of RM38.08 million recorded in the immediate preceding quarter. This is mainly because of lower sales volume in current quarter, which is partly due to the MCO imposed by the government since mid of March 2020.
