The increase in the Group’s revenue was due to better progress of its on-going construction projects compared to the immediate preceding quarter. However, the weakening US Dollar versus Malaysian Ringgit in the current financial quarter resulted in unrealised foreign exchange loss of RM2.0 million. Nevertheless, this was partly mitigated by the Group’s gross profit, resulting in narrower loss of RM1.6 million versus RM4.8 million in the immediate preceding quarter.

The Group recorded a higher revenue of RM 98.5 million, representing an increase of RM 6.4 million compared to the preceding quarter ended 31 March 2022. This was mainly attributable to higher revenue from its existing construction projects due to higher site operations days. The lower loss for the period by 17.8% was in line with the increase in revenue for the current financial quarter.

The losses for the current quarter ended 31 March 2022 by 201.8% was mainly due to the losses recognised for a completed infrastructure job during the financial quarter. Taxes incurred for the quarter were mainly the under-provision of prior year tax for a Malaysian subsidiary and the provision for the Cambodian subsidiary taxes
