Our loss after taxation for FY2023 significantly decreased to RM12.43 million from the loss after taxation of RM30.33 million recorded in FY2022. This loss after taxation was cushioned by PTAJI’s profit after taxation of RM3.29 million. our strategy for our Malaysian operations remains unchanged, focusing on the private sector and the timely completion of our existing order book. Our plans to enter the new capital Nusantara in East Kalimantan remain firm as PTAJI Management continues to monitor the progress of the development in Nusantara closely

The Group’s loss before tax decreased by RM5.58 million from RM10.09 million to RM4.50 million while loss after tax decreased by RM5.84 million from RM10.47 million to RM4.62 million. This decrease is due to the impairment and write off of contract assets amounting to RM11.50 million in the immediate preceding quarter.

The Group incurred a gross loss of RM10.85 million this financial year as compared to a gross profit of RM0.43 million last year. This gross loss was a result of the Group having to revise some of its project budgeted costs upwards due to prolonging of the projects resulting from the lockdowns imposed in FY 2021 and increase in main material prices such as steel rebar and concrete which negatively affected the projects’ profitability. On the other hand, PTAJI will remain a key contributor to the Group’s earnings in the years to come as the Indonesian market presents ample opportunities, especially in Java and Sumatera. We are also excited about the prospects of the Group’s new venture into Indonesia’s renewable energy sector

The Group’s gross loss increased by RM1.11 million because of the previously revised ECRL projects into loss-making projects, additional subcontractor costs from the Symphony Warehouse project along with incurred costs without corresponding revenue during the week of Chinese New Year. Finally, the Group’s loss before tax increased by RM0.50 million while loss after tax increased by RM0.79 million, both of which was due to the increase in gross loss

The Group’s gross loss for the current quarter is reduced by RM8.27 million as compared to last quarter, this is mainly due to the write down of revenue in last quarter which arise from the revision of budgeted costs and over recognition in earlier quarters. Loss after tax for the current quarter is reduced by RM18.86 million mainly from reduction in gross loss and provision for defect liability claims and the differences which arise from the finalisation of 8 projects in the last quarter.

The suspension and postponement of construction projects as a result of the multiple MCO phases weighed heavily on the Group’s margins. Loss/profit after tax and minority interests stood at -RM21.44 million, compared to RM10.04 million in FY2020. Our prospects in Indonesia remain bright, as the Indonesian government reactivates plans to shift the capital to Kalimantan in 2024. This should open up more job opportunities and infrastructure projects. In anticipation of this growth, the Group intends to purchase more machinery to increase our operational capacity.

Profit before tax reduced by RM24.86 million mainly from the gross loss for current quarter and compounded by the impairment of trade receivables which we deemed as uncollectable and the impairment of contract assets which arise from the measurement differences between the final accounts from our customers and our claims against our customers

The Group managed to achieve an increase in revenue of RM6.64 million or 22.62% over the preceding quarter. The increase arises mainly from the Malaysian operations whereas the Indonesian operations saw a slight decrease compared to previous quarter. The revenue increase in Malaysian operations comes from the commencement of three new projects during the current quarter.

In terms of profit before tax, the Group saw an increase of 269.0% or RM1.44 million from the preceding quarter mainly because of the write off of the IPO expenses in the previous quarter. The profit after tax of the Group also increased by 2242.2% due to higher taxation in the previous quarter as the IPO expenses written off are not tax deductible.
